So we had to wait an extra 4 days, could preload but only 20% of the game, couldn't play 2016 levels in Hitman 2 in the meantime which will now bring day1 patch to 95GB

I own hitman 1 but never played it (got it from last month humble monthly), how do I get hitman 1 content onto hitman 2?

If you own all 6 levels, you unlock them in the Hitman 2 client

And gold edition owners were able to play since last weekend... this sucks

the gold edition was the same pre load the 8,5 gb then the full game 25 gb

They really should just allow people to pre download somewhere around 90%+ of the game and just leave some key files out for launch day.
Needing to still download 80% of the game on launch day sucks, especially when the launch itself happens at 8pm (or later, depending on timezone).

I just assumed that the 8GB was Hitman 2 content that would run on the engine and what-have-you from the Hitman 1 folder. Can't think why or how though.

They can't. It's a steam problem, not the developer problem.
