DirectX 12 causing crashes.
For some reason ANY game that runs on Dx12 crashes for me, hitman 2 included. Anyone know how to change it?

The game is DX11, if you find a way to run it in DX12 let me know.

Judging by that, the game is attempting to run in Dx12.

Interesting. Go to the registry and look for HKEY Current User > Software > IO Interactive > HITMAN 2 and verify the Graphics API is set to 0.

That would explain a lot. Hitman (2016) was very unstable for me and crashed a lot in dx12, because of this I ran it in dx11 for 100's of hours with exceedinly rare crashes (maybe once every 100 hours instead of every 1 to 2 hours in dx12)

Hitman 2 is acting like Hitman (2016) in dx12 as far as crashing, it crashes every 1 to 2 hours for me, despite the configuration toggle only offering dx11 as an option

If it's switching or trying to switch to dx12 without any direct way of telling it not to, there's the instability of the previous game in dx12 mode all over again (for me)

I cant speak for the original hitman 2016 as i have that on ps4. But ive had this issue in a few other games too, i cant remember which to be certain but its whenever Dx12 is being used by a game it tends to get to the main menu and crash out hitman 2 included. Now, i run a GPU which can run DX12 specifically a gtx 1060, but its just unstable, i dont get an option to turn DX12 off on hitman 2 though.

I have a gtx 1080, it "can run" dx12, but its never been stable for me

Yup exactly, no idea how to fix it on here though.

hitman 2 so far does not support dx12 (like hitman 1 did)
another way to see it, use a fps program (afterburner) and you see D3D11 + FPS
also if you use fraps its working, meaning its dx11 as fraps doesnt support dx12

or does hitman 2 has a commandline to force it through dx12?

so far hitman 2 didnt crash once for me while hitman 1 did in the past (not with the latest version tho, as hitman 1 also runs now very stable for me (dx12)) but hitman 2 runs not as smooth in terms of fps as hitman 1 did. game is still very new so i see optimization potential (i hope)

Interesting, i think i found the issue. MSI afterburner - i closed MSI afterburner and Riva tuner and the game works. Also had this happen in many other games.

I also cant run any game in DX12 mode, i have not had any issues with Hitman 2 yet, no crashes and it launches fine.
(Win10, 1080ti, so i can run dx12, it just doesnt work lmao)

If you have MSI afterburner or Riva tuner turned on, turn them off and try again.
