The training mission...
Launch the game for the first time.

Complete the first level on the first attempt Silent Assassin Suit Only.

"We recommend you complete the training mission"

Really Hitman?

I loaded it up to check and they just recycled the boat training mission from the first game.

The fact that they put you in a prologue mission before actually teaching you how to play the game properly is probably the strangest part of the game so far

On that note, I played through the prologue mission to see what had changed. In the training they have you throw a wrench at that cook to pacify him. On the free form replay, his head is bandaged up. Was that detail in the original, or just added for Hitman 2 ?

I'll need to keep an eye out as I finish the challenges, but that was the one I noticed that made me smile, and excited to redo some of the previouisly completed levels
I didn't bother playing the training once I realised it was the same level again.

I've completed the first 2 real missions so far, SASO on the first and SA on the second, both on the first attempt.

I never threw the wrench at the cook. He still had the bandage in free form though.

Question: Is it possible to just skip the training missions?

Nice necro...

You can play any mission at any time you like.

Downside: you miss out on some useful items that get unlocked by playing the first missions... like the lockpick, which is one of the most valuable tools in the game (not sure what mission but I believe it was the training one).

But yeah, each mission is completely solvable without said lockpick... just a little more daunting in certain cases.

Ergo: play as you wish... anything goes.

no rules against necros as long as they are part of the confersations, as so we dont have 300 billion threads of the same thing

Destinations menu, do them in any order you want. Your profile is saved entirely independent of mission saves. You can jump in and out anywhere and your overall progress is saved, you just restart-replan and change missions at will.
