A Question about the game size....
I just bought HM2 during the sale and noticed that on the store page it said it required 60GB of available storage space. Now, at the time I had about 130GB but when I went to install it, it said it needed 153GB of space. Me thinking this was a temporary thing freed up about 24GB and installed the game. This took about 3.5 hours... The thing is, after I installed it I checked how much free space I had, and it said about 4GB. I then made sure it was actually coming from the game, and found out that the HM2 folder indeed contained 149GB of stuff. Of this about 99.9% of it was used in the Pf(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\HM2\Runtime folder in all the .rpgk files. At the time I pushed this problem aside and played the game for some time. I later checked again how much space I had. What is weird is that now I have 6.5GB of free space no longer 4GB. Can anyone help explain what is happening here, what is going wrong, or what I am doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

NEVER completely fill up a drive! Drives NEED some spare room.
I could explain why, but just take it from me... don't do it. If you wanna know why, use Google.

A hard drive needs a buffer of approximately 10% / 15% free space
A SSD is more comfortable at 25% / 30% free space

This should not be a problem though because I had 130GB of free space and it said it only required 60GB. I have a 500GB/512GB SSD.

Sounds like you are pushing it to the max. Keep some free space! Especially on a SSD.

Well my SSD should not be full, that is why I made this post. HM2 said it required 60GB of free space to install. I had more than twice the required space available at 130GB of free, available space. However when I installed it this space was gone (see above, post #1) which I found weird because I thought I had enough space to install it.

Full Hitman 2 install = 150GB
Hitman 2016 content = 65GB

Total 215GB

That's the complete size of the game (H2 Gold + Legacy) on my drive (two root game folders)

My Hitman 2 (gold + full legacy, everything installed) takes 152 900MB (as reported by Steam) or 149GB (as reported by the OS).

Your +/- a few GBs could be OS updates, temp files, game updates etc.

Actually, Hitman 2 is the folder and everything is there. You don't need to install/have/keep installed Hitman 1.

Which is really weird.

When I bought Hitman 2 about 2 months ago, I had no Hitman 2016 data on my drive.

I do own the 2016 GOTY, but I uninstalled that game long before I installed Hitman 2, yet Hitman 2016 is a 65GB folder on my drive. Only explanation for this is it came with Hitman 2.

Hitman 1 levels are different in Hitman 2 so the content isn't shared.
Not sure what happened in your case, but if you don't need Himan 1, you can safely delete it and it won't affect Hitman 2 DLC legacy content.

A full install of Hitman 2 with "everything" is nearly 150gb and you need space beyond that for temp files during install

Needing "60gb" is for the smallest version of the game with no extra locations installed from either the Legacy Pack or the Expansion Pass

I only found out about this Hitman 2016 folder after someone else pointed it out here on the forum. I checked and he was right.

I know 2016 content in Hitman 2 is a different game, but somehow the original 2016 content got installed along with Hitman 2. At that point I just assumed is was somehow necessary data.

Don't really care about the 65GB. The drive it is installed on has got plenty of space left.

You own Hitman 2016, so steam automatically downloaded Hitman 2 Legacy Pack for you. For a total of 150GB of data with both games inside one.

Hitman (2016) and Hitman 2 (2018) are physically separate game installs. One does not require the other and instlaling Hitman 2 (2018) will not cause Hitman (2016) to be installed as a game, it is not required.

Legacy Pack installs as DLC for Hitman 2 and within the Hitman 2 folder, it does not install as a separate game (as he implied). Legacy Pack includes remastered versions of the same content yes, but they are distinct installs of separate games.

That's not what is going on. The complete Hitman 2 + Legacy is 150GB. But somehow the ORIGINAL 2016 content got installed as well.

I am 100% positive 2016 was not installed, but now it is.

You may have clicked install on the wrong one in library without realizing it. They are right above each other. Hitman 2 can not install a different game.
