I could explain why, but just take it from me... don't do it. If you wanna know why, use Google.
A hard drive needs a buffer of approximately 10% / 15% free space
A SSD is more comfortable at 25% / 30% free space
Sounds like you are pushing it to the max. Keep some free space! Especially on a SSD.
Hitman 2016 content = 65GB
Total 215GB
That's the complete size of the game (H2 Gold + Legacy) on my drive (two root game folders)
Your +/- a few GBs could be OS updates, temp files, game updates etc.
Actually, Hitman 2 is the folder and everything is there. You don't need to install/have/keep installed Hitman 1.
Which is really weird.
When I bought Hitman 2 about 2 months ago, I had no Hitman 2016 data on my drive.
I do own the 2016 GOTY, but I uninstalled that game long before I installed Hitman 2, yet Hitman 2016 is a 65GB folder on my drive. Only explanation for this is it came with Hitman 2.
Not sure what happened in your case, but if you don't need Himan 1, you can safely delete it and it won't affect Hitman 2 DLC legacy content.
A full install of Hitman 2 with "everything" is nearly 150gb and you need space beyond that for temp files during install
Needing "60gb" is for the smallest version of the game with no extra locations installed from either the Legacy Pack or the Expansion Pass

I know 2016 content in Hitman 2 is a different game, but somehow the original 2016 content got installed along with Hitman 2. At that point I just assumed is was somehow necessary data.
Don't really care about the 65GB. The drive it is installed on has got plenty of space left.
You own Hitman 2016, so steam automatically downloaded Hitman 2 Legacy Pack for you. For a total of 150GB of data with both games inside one.
Hitman (2016) and Hitman 2 (2018) are physically separate game installs. One does not require the other and instlaling Hitman 2 (2018) will not cause Hitman (2016) to be installed as a game, it is not required.
Legacy Pack installs as DLC for Hitman 2 and within the Hitman 2 folder, it does not install as a separate game (as he implied). Legacy Pack includes remastered versions of the same content yes, but they are distinct installs of separate games.
That's not what is going on. The complete Hitman 2 + Legacy is 150GB. But somehow the ORIGINAL 2016 content got installed as well.
I am 100% positive 2016 was not installed, but now it is.
You may have clicked install on the wrong one in library without realizing it. They are right above each other. Hitman 2 can not install a different game.
