Anyone get "Guardian Angel" on Hokkaido to work?

I'm having a lot of trouble getting this challenge to work. And yes, I know you need to finish the level in order for it to pop. It isn't popping for me, despite "saving" the doctor multiple times. I even get the dialogue line about achievement etc, and still no challenge pop.

Also to make matters worse, for some reason the neurochip transmitter doesn't work when I try to play the level in a contract. It only seems to function in the main storyline, so resetting the map just for the challenge blows.

All the videos out there on this challenge are for Hitman 1, anyone have any luck getting it in 2?

However, I completed it at launch (in Hitman 2), there have been patches since then that have possibly broken the challenge (several other challenges that were working at launch have since been broken in recent patches)

Personally I did not do this during a contract, I followed that method but during the regular Situs Inversus (and simply poisoned both targets, which if you know the mission can be done in a matter of minutes easily)

The most important aspect of getting the challenge is the timing of when you save him. He should say "perhaps if I go headfirst, the fall will crush that cursed microchip first, a fitting end I would say"

Increase his meds and he should respond with: "hmm that sensation, oh what an achievement"

If you've had him speak the line about "oh what an achievement" you've done it correctly, if the game still does not award the challenge (after completing your targets) then its bugged

Thanks for the detailed post, I followed that video originally and was having this issue still. So, I decided to just restart the entire mission and did it on my own.

I opted for a SA run just because and took out Soders with the heart, then after that I triggered his meds down and followed him out to save him from the balcony. Interestingly, I did not get the "what an achievement" line, but I shrugged and just decided to keep going. I saved the game once but did not load a save. I then killed Yuki in the sauna and left, and somehow the challenge popped!

So in my specific case, I did not have to hear the specific line (I did push the button at "a fitting end"). I saved him inbetween target kills, and also got a SA rating and did not reload a save. Was wearing bodyguard for most of it.

I have no idea if any of that factored into it, or if this whole thing is really just buggy, but in the future if anybody else is having trouble with the challenge give what I did a try.

This is the solution. Guardian Angel won't unlock unless you have done the challenge and exit the level to the score screen.

To clarify the issue was that it was not appearing for me despite finishing the level in the score screen. I had to redo the entire mission from scratch for whatever reason and it finally showed up at the end.

When I did it. It didn't give me notification but it showed up in my completed challenges...
