Possible to play Hitman 1 legacy stages in the FREE version of Hitman 2?

I own the GOTY version of Hitman 1. I read that you can play the 6 maps from the first game in 2 if you just download the free version of the game with only the tutorial. It seems too good to be true. Anyway I downloaded Hitman 2 (without paying a dime) with only the tutorial level but the legacy pack is not in game, and when I check the store I see that the legacy pack costs money even though I own the GOTY version of the first game.

So just want to confirm that I misread the message.

edit: whoa so I'm actually supposed to be able to play the remaster versions of these maps without paying for Hitman 2? That's amazing. I guess I will try to figure out why it's not in the game and costs money in the store. Thanks for letting me know.

If you already owned all 6 main Hitman 2016 levels, you would get them for free in Hitman 2, but if you only owned some of the main missions, it won't work.

Note also it doesn't download the legacy missions right away. Quit the game at least once, and make sure Steam downloads aren't queued for the game.

If you own the first game then you should have it. Restart steam if you have to that should do it. And make sure it just hasnt installed by looking in the dlc bit in hitman 2

Perhaps check if you have an account for the first one, if you do no, perhaps create one and link it with hitman 2.

I own the first game and somehow got the old maps without paying additional stuff on Hitman 2.

Just try to check the markers on your DLC list - it did an update for me and then next time i started up the game I had the maps.
Go try it buddy!

Yeah I don't have the DLC list like in other games for hitman 2, that's why I don't know how to get the legacy pack. Did you buy hitman 2 though? I know you can get the maps from the 1st game in hitman 2 for free. But I only have Hitman 2 the prologue edition so I didn't even have to pay anything.

Did you buy the levels piecemeal? Did you get the GOTY version they sold later? And yes, I get that you said you own Hitman 2016 GOTY, but it is worth double checking.

You can definitely get the legacy stuff with just the prologue, if you have all 6 missions in Hitman 2016. If starting the Hitman 2 prologue and exiting it didn't start the download for you, the only other thing I can think of is maybe you didn't accept the privacy policy and always online drm? You have to accept those to get the legacy maps.

I own the GOTY version with all DLCs. I preordered the full game before release so I have the full game right off the start. I then bought the GOTY DLCs when it came out.

Nah man I didnt bought any DLC for Hitman 2 yet.
I can say I had this complete Ediiton thingy or whatever its called (where u get all Maps)
I dont have the Patient Zero DLC though.
But When I played Hitman 2 the first time I couldnt play the Legacy maps then I checked the DLC list which u find in Library by clicking on any game and scroll a bit down. I think I check the boxes? I dont remember exactly but it suddenly started an "update" and i the next launch the maps where avaible for me


edit: I bought the FULL EXPERIENCE update.


Oh and I notice u say you have the Free version - I think that wont work then.

LOL as a matter of fact I did not accep it...
I guess this might be the cause. I'm still hoping that IOI would remove this always-online DRM and how they would share your private info with 3rd parties etc, which is the reason why I didn't immediately buy hitman 2 to begin with even though I love hitman 1 so much.
I guess I will just keep waiting then ...

Yeah, it's too bad they won't get rid of that crap. It's why I'm waiting for Hitman 2 to be $5 or less, because the offline mode has everything removed from it.
