Concealed Weapons on Loadout
Why can't we assign melee weapons to this slot?

The Concealable Knife, Concealable Baton and Fibre Wire for example are all weapons and all concealable (maybe more so than a firearm) yet can only be assigned to the two equipment slots.

I'm assuming its a balance thing but it does seem strange considering the above. I'd understand a sniper rifle (unless you count the case) or a katana not being concealable.

I'd like to be able to loadout with a concealable baton, a lockpick and my fibre wire. Why can I only choose a firearm as a starting weapon?

(I appreciate that no one can really answer this unless you work for the devs but thought I'd ask all the same)

It is my biggest complaint about the current series of Hitman; the loadout selection. I will dearly love that guns count as items instead, and have 3 fluid spots in the inventory.

Some people will argue to their death and scream BALANCE and blah blah blah blah about you can do so with fewer tools; thats not the point and no one can claim that finding items in Hitman is the best part of the game. Make more slots unlockable at Mastery 20 or something; or unlock as SA/SO. Once we can beat on the tightest of constraints, I think balance is not a big deal anymore.

Is also a bit of an annoyance that fibrewire and coins are "items". I can sort of understand the former, but and doing the signature kills requires more planning but it means no one really bothers with it unless they are doing a challenge with it. Coins is a little silly as most human beings carry coins anyway, and would an assassin really decide between carrying coins or carrying some poison pills?
