"Tuppence a Wish" challenge
Does this challenge is impossible to do in Hitman2? With Hitman(2016) I never had problem with this. Throwing 13 coins from mirror into the water does nothing and hitting these 2 rocks doesn't work because coins never bounce that far no matter from what distance or angle you doing this.

throwing 13 coins never had anything to do with it, the person who posted that was clueless and simply managed to hit the two rocks without knowing what he was doing. Many many people have completed it with 2 to 12 coin tosses

the requirement in Hitman (2016) was always bounce off the mirror and have 2 coins hit 2 rocks, I doubt the requirement for that has changed

you are correct about the bounce though, coins do not bounce as far in Hitman 2, it's very likely to be near impossible to accomplish this unless they tweak the bounce distance back to what it was

I just collected all coins and took two sets with me. after the 15th coin I got the challenge.

do you remember what part of the mirror you were throwing at? mine all seem to end up on the back shelf, they hit the mirror and drop like a rock instead of bouncing out into the water

I used the fire extinguishers to get it.
i.e. if you didn't get it after throwing them all in, place a fire extinguuisher on the ledge, shoot it with the silenced pistol so it falls in and explodes, pick up the coins and keep throwing them in (be careful as guards will come to investigte and will pick up the coins on the floor).

After the second fire extinguisher and thrwing the coins in again I got the achievement.

Also, I believe I stood 2/3 of the way back on the rug, and through the coins about 3/4 of the way up the mirror (there is a noticable line in the mirror)... not all went in, but I was going to blow them back onto the floor so I didn't worry about it.

you could just make a save point and reload instead of blowing things up to get the coins back....

The idea is that some coins maybe worked in the first try and the second try is counting from that point.

Top left of the mirror. More top than left though so not directly in the corner.

I did make make a save just in case, but with the coin flipping being so random I found it faster and more fun to do it my way. Given the choice between reloading a dozen times and setting off an explosion, an explosion is infinetly more enjoyable. :happymeat:

It's not just a mirror. It's a waterfall fountain. I think the new water physics are messing with the coin bouncing.

I can confirm tuppence a wish can be unlocked by bouncing any 13 coins off the mirror and into the water of the fountain (found in Ken Morgan's Queen Suite apartment). Tried many other methods and this finally got the challenge unlocked
Man, this is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ paradox.

So I listened to my friend, Lucky, and he said that the challenge can be completed by simply having the coins bounced from the mirror to the fountain and that's literally it.

I can confirmed this by doing exactly what he said and I recall that the coins landed in the middle of the fountain, not touching the two rocks at all.
It took me a while to get it because the coins didn't bounced far enough into the fountain.

I've thrown 15 coins into the fountain and it didn't work

I unlocked it in the previous game with far less than 13 but only after getting them to hit rocks (twice)

tuppence means two (tuppence = two pence = two pennies), the 13 makes no sense

Show me a video in Hitman 2 of someone doing this, because all the old ones are done by hitting 2 rocks, including the one guy who says he threw 13, he did, but his last one hit the second rock, and the others all did it with less than 13 throws

Eh, literally no one sacrificed themselves to record doing this in HITMAN 2.
All I got is what other people said:

I think it's a moot point if the coin physics don't allow for a reliable aim. 99% of people will either end up saving/reloading a bunch of times or blowing the coins out of the fountain to reuse them, so pick whichever method you prefer and enjoy your shiny new gold coins.
TooooooooBad Nov 23, 2018 @ 9:10pm
This mission has exactly 13 coins, but you can bring 3 which reduce the number you need to collect on the map.

You need to throw 13 coin on the mirror, and they have to bounce back into the fountain. You know you did it right if the coin no longer appear using Instinct. Save everytime the coin hit the mirror and succesfully fall into the fountain. If it get stuck on the rock or plant, simply reload the save and throw again.

The whole hit the rock was just the first theory about this challenge. This one is the true solution.
The guy above with the reddit link is right too.
