Sniper assassin too much grinding?
I like the reboot of Hitman with Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2. The levels are back to Hitman open style. There is some hand holding but the levels are rich and detailed. I like the mastery and challenge systems. They add replayability to the game.

However for Sniper Assassin, it feels like grinding for the sake of grinding. Am I off base? I mean Silent Assassin with most to all challenges completed nets about 1.5 levels of mastery. I like the levels, maybe if the targets were random like in the Vector level I wouldn't mind. Or go from 20 mastery levels to 10? But once the challenges are unlocked it feels like playing the same 3 to 4 minutes over and over again just for a mastery level.

At least for Siberia you can unlock new sniper rifle in game. Maybe more in game unlocks would make the rewards feel better.

Sniper Assassin is way too grindy, they should have halved how much XP was needed to reach Mastery level 20 as it takes hours to do even when doing perfect run after perfect run.

Honestly save yourself the headache and just don't bother trying to mastery 20 the Sniper Assassin content. There are no rewards for doing so except Siberia singleplayer, though that rifle is just a reskin of the one you can unlock on Haven Island (or the Haven one is a reskin of it as Siberia came first).

There's no reason or purpose to grind out level 20 on Himmelstien or Hantu Port, you get nothing for it and you don't need to do it.

Even Siberia is just a novelty weapon unlock, it's identical in function to the Sniper unlocked by Haven island.

They are too much grinding, but they also simply are not required at all, you have no reason to do them unless you actually enjoy Sniper Assassin in which case those mastery will come naturally just from playing it over time.

I personally didn't rush those at all, I replayed each Sniper Assassin mission for a few minutes each week over a period of months, I played just enough to enjoy them and not annoy myself, I hit mastery 20 eventually just from doing it, but I sure as heck didn't annoy myself by trying to do the grind all at once, there was no benefit in doing it that way.

Mastering a level in games is a past time for some of us with major OCD issues, I'm one that hates seeing 89/90 challenges complete and have spent enough time playing and complaining about this game to have ground out 4 total levels to 100% completion, I agree the sniper challenges are a slog, the kill everyone after panicking everyone nonsense is so unintuative to the game that it defies logic. I mean you are instructed to play quietly and get better scores by not panicking people yet this is an antithesis of that. I wont comment about the kill 47 people in sgail and others that certainly defy that logic either. I dunno who writes these missions but at times I want to act like 47 and pop them in the bloody head from across the street.

It is what it is. You have to reach lv 20 in Siberia mission to unlock a sniper rifle. Better do it in several sessions because it takes a few hours.
