The game has over 1000 challenges across all maps to unlock, all of which require playing the level in different ways and doing different things, and then on top of that there are ways to complete the mission and things to do that aren't a part of any challenges.
To complete the game once would take about 2 hours, but the game easily has at least 200 hours worth of content from the main missions alone.
Then of course you have the many escalations on each map, Contracts Mode which are community made missions for near unlimited content, plenty of which are really fun to play and are interesting to complete, and Ghost Mode which is PVP competitive.
I would guess most people find a middle-ground of doing all the mission stories and maybe getting mission mastery, but not doing EVERYTHING. Even that will take you a long time though, at least like 40 hours unless you use walkthroughs and the in-game hint system, which you should NOT because finding methods to do things is half the game.
At first, you are taking in the missions's atmosphere, completing the different opportunities. Everything has been carefully crafted. But then when you have to complete Suit Only for exemple, you have to think outside the box. It become this kind of dance where you know where everything, who is going to do what and when...
Yeah, that's definitely how I play. One very long exploration first go and then a bunch of very different feeling attempts to get the challenges. Some people won't be into that later part though, everyone's different.
I'm not into master mode because of the limited saves, which bums me out since I'd love to 100% the game. We're all into different things though.
The game highly encourages having all challenges unlocked, which is where you'll see many opportunities you've missed at first.
So, no endless replayability, but surely a LOT !
I did a Kill Everyone run on every map a couple of times already.
The only thing that could let the game be more fun if there was a "cheat"-code or a special suit or something that gives you unlimited use of your items, but the score wouldn't count towards your level or whatever.
Imagine the fun with unlimited shuriken, unlimited ammo for the tranquilizer gun or the sniper rifles, or the neverending poison syringe.
