SOLVED: (CRASH) Wrusr.dll Bad Image error when trying to launch after buying Legacy Pack
Turns out the most simple solution was the one I overlooked. I removed the dll file from my System 32 folder. I had to disable my anti-virus to do so as it was using the dll somehow, but after removing the file, HiTMAN launched with no issues.

Not sure what's going on here. Launched without a problem on the first attempt and I played for a little over an hour with no issues and smooth gameplay. Bought the legacy pack after 78 minutes of gameplay for 5 bucks or whatever it is right now and now the game won't launch without this error. I can't find any discussions about this online so I was hoping someone here may know something.

Error code is 0xc0000020

So far I've tried:
Disabling V-Sync
Running in Dx12 (Claimed the game was running but never actually launched, and when it did launch, gave me the same error)
Uninstalling the Legacy Pack Dlc
Reinstalling from scratch
Deleting the Dx12retail file and verifying the game cache as one user on another forum suggested for HITMAN 2016

None of this has helped and I'd hate to refund the game if there's a solution I'm not finding. Any help is appreciated.

One more thing maybe worth noting is that if I mash OK on the error, it keeps popping up, but the game doesn't stop running, just pauses when the error comes up.

Thanks

Wrusr is part of wrsa.exe web root secure authority.
It's hard to know what is calling it, often malware will disguise itself as that dll file.
I would update your anti-virus and do a full system scan, then after that if the game still won't launch and your system is clean try disabling the anti-virus and running hitman to see if being blocked automatically.
Also are you running any 3rd party firewall?

Running a system scan now. I'm not running any third party firewall. I'll see about disabling Webroot after the scan is complete. Googling the error only resulted in pages about malware and the same error from Hitman 2016 that I mentioned above so I can see where that comes in.

Okay, system scan came back clean. Tried disabling the anti-virus and launched Hitman and I got the same error.
