Should I buy Expansion Pass?
This is my first Hitman game and don't know if I should buy the expansion pass or the legacy GOTY thing. Or is the Legacy GOTY thing included in the expansion pass?

Buy the GOTY Legacy Pack.
It has more content by far and it includes the first half of the games story.

The Expansion pass isn't even fully released yet.

Content:
GOTY Legacy Pack.
6 locations
12 sandbox missions
1 sniper mission.

Expansion Pass:
1 location
3 sandbox missions
1 sniper missions
(will double once the second half is released)
yes

you willalso get all the mssion from hitman 2016
and they already release a new map(NewYork) few days ago, there will be 2 more maps coming but still in the making process from what I'd concern.
the money will be well spent my boi

If you're looking for bang for your buck get legacy the pass doesn't even have all the content out for it yet, you'll have plenty of chances to buy it.

Yes, you should upgrade to the Gold edition of HITMAN 2. It is easily worth the $100, but right now it's on sale for $40 so it's a no-brainer. As for the "Legacy" content, instead, buy the HITMAN 1 GOTY bundle. That is, go look up the game from 2016 called HITMAN, not HITMAN 2.

- The HITMAN 1 GOTY bundle is slightly cheaper than the equivalent HITMAN 2 legacy content.
- Once you launch HITMAN 1, it will unlock all the "Legacy" content in HITMAN 2.
- There is extra content (some escalations & all contracts) in HITMAN 1 that is not in HITMAN 2, even with all the "Legacy" unlocks.

However, just be aware that whatever progress you make in HITMAN 1 will not be replicated in HITMAN 2. For example, if you unlock new starting locations in the HITMAN 1 Paris level, you will have to redo that in HITMAN 2's version of the Paris level.

If you just love earning achievements, you can have a chance to do it twice. :)

Creds: 165 hrs in HITMAN 2 w/ 100% achievements, 101 hrs in HITMAN 1 w/ 100% achievements

Thanks a ton for the answer! So I can essentially buy Hitman 1 and play it within Hitman 2? So does the Gold edition have the expansion pass AND the GOTY stuff? Or should I just buy Hitman 1 GOTY and then buy the xpansion pass later?

Gold Edition is just Standard Edition + Expansion Pass.
The GOTY Legacy Pack isn't included in any edition of the game.

I'd say buy either the GOTY Legacy pack
https://store.steampowered.com/app/960831/HITMAN__GOTY_Legacy_Pack/
Or the Hitman 2016 GOTY Edition
https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/4854/HITMAN__Game_of_The_Year_Edition/
and then buy the Expansion Pass at a later date.

The GOTY Legacy Pack is cheaper currently so you should get that rather than buying Hitman 2016 itself.
That and if you buy Hitman 2016 you'll need to install and launch it for Hitman 2 to recognise that you should get the Legacy content.

Everything in HITMAN 2 called "legacy" is content (but not ALL content) from HITMAN 1. If you buy HITMAN 1, it unlocks the "legacy" stuff in HITMAN 2. So yes, whether you buy HITMAN 1 or you buy the "legacy" DLC, you would be playing HITMAN 1 stuff in HITMAN 2.

The Gold Edition doesn't have any of the "legacy" stuff. That's all separate because it was originally packaged as the 2016 game, so the expectation is that many players already bought it before HITMAN 2 came out.

If you are on a budget, like everyone else I suggest playing through all the HITMAN 1 content first (via Legacy or by buying HITMAN 1) and then the HITMAN 2 extra content from expansion pass (Gold edition, etc.). However, it's unlikely that prices will fall below $40 for a very long time, so if you're not on a budget, you might consider just buying both while there's a sale.

Yes and no. HITMAN 1 GOTY is maybe a dollar more expensive than the Legacy pack, but it includes (and unlocks) extra content that is still an extra $10 for HITMAN 2.

But yes, you do have to download part of HITMAN 1 and launch it.

Posting these links for the price comparisons:

https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/4854/HITMAN__Game_of_The_Year_Edition/

^ The link above is a separate game (HITMAN 1), but it unlocks both of these HITMAN 2 DLC:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/960832/HITMAN__GOTY_Legacy_Pack_Upgrade/

I believe the difference is around $0.50, so if you have opinions about library size, achievements, comprehensiveness (again, some HITMAN 1 stuff is missing from HITMAN 2), maybe that is worth the extra 50 cents. But yes, you do have to download part of HITMAN 1 and launch it.
$8.98[i.imgur.com] vs $20.31[i.imgur.com] is a bit more than 50c difference.

Not to mention it saves you the trouble of needing to download and launch Hitman 2016 just to uninstall it again since there's no reason to keep it installed when you have the Hitman 2 Legacy Content.

Edit: Ignore fashy, they don't know what they're on about.
The GOTY Legacy Pack Upgrade is only for people who own the regular Legacy Pack and it upgrades the Legacy Pack to the GOTY Legacy Pack.
Buying both the GOTY Legacy Pack and GOTY Legacy Pack Upgrade is a waste of money.

I see the HITMAN 1 GOTY bundle for $14.71. Then I see the HITMAN 2 equivalent (GOTY Legacy Pack and GOTY Legacy Pack Upgrade) for $5.99 + $9.99 = $15.98.[imgur.com]

So it's not a 50 cent difference -- the HITMAN 1 version is cheaper for me by $1.27.

Thanks for the clarification. So it's cheaper to buy the Legacy pack than to buy HITMAN 1. But again you will get a little bit less content (and one fewer game in your library) so take that into account.
