So what exactly does the Remote EMP Charge do?

I so rarely use it myself that I decided to try it out again after seeing this thread. I did Ghost Party (featured contract) today using it:

Such an underrated gadget. You can place it on the other side of a wall and take out the recorder without even being in the same room. You can also place and trigger it without anyone noticing, as it's not an illegal action.

So if you're in the security room, but don't want to get caught erasing the footage, you can simply place the EMP charge, then trigger it. Job done.

That said, in most cases you can either shoot or disable it by other means, but the EMP charge definitely has it's uses.

Previously I found most gadgets had too little utility to justify bringing them along. Most dissappointing were grenades - like if they couldn't make a gas grenade that just filled the room with gas instead of creating that loud explosion to attract everyone.

Now I bring it along very often, because even though it is one-use thing, it is very useful and opens up many possibilities. In Santa Fortuna I placed one into the water puddle created by the pump at coca plantation and electrocuted Franco with it. During the Icon mission in Sapienza I threw one from the trailer and disabled the generator without any need to disturb the NPC roaming around it. So many possilities!
