But yes, it would be nice if they finish these off and bring them back.
If they at least fixed all the other glaring issues (broken physics, missing animations, bugs and glitches galore) the game still has since bloody day one, maybe we could excuse the lack of some features. But in the state the game is in right now, it feels completely abandoned and unpolished. There's no excuse for this kind of incompetence and malpractice.
Grabs aren't exclusive to vert skating and there is vertical transition in multiple maps. There is also a actual vert ramp in FDR map.
Believe me, I spent a lot of time in skater xl and they quickly get boring
But there are no vert maps, so your point is mute.
And no complies. Our skate shop is named No Comply and we can't even freakin do one? WTAF. Seriously.
I don't even bother playing updates any more. It's always just fluff. I don't even remember how many months it's been since I last played it.
When I hear they've put in grabs, good transition and pumping and lip tricks, wall rides (oh wait, sk8 kiddies don't do wall rides, right), foot plants ...
It's currently a flippy-trick game.
I regret supporting it in early access.
What are you talking about? Why would there even be a only vert map? The excuse that the game is street skating only doesn't work if there are maps that have a lot of transition/vert. I mean why even add half assed transition or grabs in the first place during EA if they aimed for street skating only. They even took people's money in the Kickstarter to include vert.
I also don't understand what's so wrong with doing a grab on a gap. From what I understand, grabs aren't a one-trick pony you only do on vertical transitions. I thought skateboarding was about freedom of expression, not strict rules about what one can and cannot do on flat or gaps.
Alas, they seem to have abandoned grabs when they removed them entirely with the "1.0" release, so I wouldn't count on them coming back
The Game is aimed more at Street Skating, that's obvious. The Game [although claiming to be a full release] is still well in Development, so if they continue to Develop as they should, Grabs will eventually come back.
I'm not entirely sure on what the reason they were removed as I wasn't a player at that stage, but from some Video's I've seen, personally, they didn't really look all that great, so a lot more work was needed.
However, just because there are some Ramps in the Game, doesn't mean they SHOULD be in the Game right this second. A Ramp doesn't mean a Grab needs to be performed 100% of the time, they are not exclusive to Grabs only, and they work well enough on the Maps we have to whip around and do a couple tricks before moving on.
I've mentioned in other Topics that the current Developers remaining don't seem to have much Development skills, as seen by their "revamp of the item dropper", which is total trash. If they can't code something like that to be more useful and player friendly, I highly doubt they could work on actual Content in a Sim where Realism is at it's finest.
I'm still trying to remain hopeful that Nacon will wake up to themselves and realize what they have destroyed when they took over, but time will tell on that.
Again though, no one here has stated they shouldn't be in the Game.
They still have the same main programmer that started the company with Mah and is responsible for most of the coding in the game. So he definitely should have the skills to further develop the features in the game.
