Controllers not working

Started up the game today. Controller is connected and working in Steam overlay. However, it's not working in-game. When I disconnect the controller I get an error message (Reconnect controller), but after reconnecting, still nothing happens. Using XBOX 360 Controller. Any suggestions?

The Steam overlay aside, does it work fine in other games? Cuz if yes, then it's possible that they didn't really care to properly configure older controller models.

They don't provide any sort of tech support on Steam, nor is the community here savvy enough to help with that—unless someone else ran into the same problem and already fixed it, but it's been 22h since you made this thread, so who's to say?

Your best bet would be Discord. If the devs don't reply, at least the community there is more active than here on Steam, so they might be able to help. You might also get a response from someone close to the devs, such as JL Nightmare, who can more reliably pass on the issue. Just don't expect a patch the next day, as they don't release hotfixes prior to a planned update. One is supposed to drop some time this month.

Controller working fine in other games, plus I've never had any issues with session in the x+ hours I've played the game ... Also the controller is quite new (current model), so I don't think that's the issue

So it's an Xbox Series S/X controller, not a 360? If so, that is weird. Did you check if it has any updates?

I never had any problems playing Session with either an Xbox One or Xbox Series S/X controller. Usually if I have any problems with other games, it's because something's messed up with the Steam Input configuration, or the controller layout.

Yeah, I fiddled around with the Steam settings and eventually got it to work again, odd though as I didn't change the settings before. At least it's all working again. Thanks for your reply !
