HARSH, BUT HONEST TRUTH
I love Session and have since I signed on during early access over 3 years ago. I've logged like 800 hours into the game-most of them before v1.0. But man, let's be honest: Creature launched a GROSSLY unfinished game. Same thing Easy Day did with SXL.

Maybe I'm old school, but this new way of packaging and selling incomplete stuff as a full game is really lame to me. And Nacon is wrong for pushing them to release something so incomplete. Doesn't exactly shine the best light on either company, if you ask me. Now we're in Steam forums discussing when the next update is and whether it will include anything significant to the gameplay, smh. Beyond that, we still have no real timeline on when they'll address longstanding gameplay issues-but I'm sure someone will make the excuse that there's only ten of them on the dev team and they can't keep an animator.

Come on, Creature. We don't care about more pros or shoes or even maps. Get the gameplay together for real, THEN go crazy with all the cosmetic stuff-which is fluff that doesn't do anything to make the game more playable for long for those of us who've been around.

yea it doesnt have the polish of AAA games of a decade ago, but I dont care. $30 or whatever you spend for a S tier simulator that you spent $800 hours on? its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ worth it. The graphics, physics, and control are amazing. It being a little buggy will never take that away. Games like these dont needa ton of content BECAUSE THEY ARE INSANELY REPLAYABLE as evident by your hours. Youre only really limited by your creativity

like league of legends is similar. They have 2 maps. Thats it, but its so re playable that it doesnt matter at all that they dont come out with new content.

its like, people seem to forget that they are converting the game from unreal engine 4 to unreal engine 5. and are more or less working on two games at once. working on both the unreal engine 5 updates and the current unreal engine 4 game we are playing.

but the early release allows more people to play the game. playstation and switch players get to play the game now.

i had quite a few friends waiting years to just get their hands on any version of the game. dropping to 1.0 allowed that to happen.

Actually, I didn't know about the conversion to UE5. I don't follow Session news as closely as I did before launch (due to disappointment and fatigue with delays and not following through on things promised in earlier dev blogs). That would definitely explain some things. I understand that console gamers wanted to play the game, but that doesn't invalidate my statement about the game being so unfinished when they decided to launch. No offense, but some of the issues and experimental features have remained unaddressed for years.

And yeah, I've logged a number of hours, but the vast majority of them were before launch. I played the game with an eye toward the future of what the devs promised it would become. But there's not much replay value, now. Maps like Peitruss were mods we all loved that are now paid dlc. Which I get, but it doesn't make what's all played out any less disappointing to me.

But ultimately, I get where you're coming from.

aah...all talk and no action...I highly doubt UE5 will ever happen. From what I´ve read, it cannot be the hassle you portrait it here, my dear 420...it´s a few pages in the manual/migration guide. Not a whole book!
Perhaps you should read it too...your statements seem out of place.
And again, I have to point out that I bought this EA for PC...I cannot be bothered by other plattforms issues. Period.
Please explain how the PC community benefits from delays caused by shady porting to shady consoles and the like!
C and/or NACON simply bit off too huge a chunk (and still do!)...way too huge and now they struggle chewing it...let alone swallowing it...

That sounds really old school to me indeed.

Both sxl/sxxl and session are developing something new (gameplay wise). It's not even close to what Skate&Destroy, THPS, Skate franchise were.

Yes, there'll be some new features in the skate 4. Yep, it will prolly be 'finished' when coming out. Tho, it's a franchise, the gameplay designs are not expected to be different from what they already did. It will be an EA Skate game (with multi).

Since you're there for a longtime too, you know like myself, crea-ture deliver.
But they took a lot of times. Mah, the founder of the studio, had been buying time since the game inception. Every Xbox fundings, Montreal fundings, Early Access on steam, Nacon publishing etc. are moves to give the game more times.
Even sxl needs time. Like years after, they're going for updates too.

Priorities are not what we would expect to be.
I mean I'm like you dudes, I don't care much of Switch port, it's been quite sometimes I don't need a tutorial (tho I learnt things within the story tbf), and I don't want other control scheme than LF/RF.
Yet, none of us bother to found a studio on our own money, and develop the game we always wanted. So, we're not dealing with buying time.

it's a gabe Mar 10, 2023 @ 3:13am
That's something people woke up to when 1.0 released. I've been telling people since the jump from pre-alpha to beta that this wasn't right, but no one listened. Not that it would've mattered 🤷🏻‍♂️

I guess it wouldn't be as bad if they admitted that they rushed to 1.0 and focused on improving the game instead of what they've been doing so far. There have been some improvements for sure, but clearly not enough.
MegaBates Mar 10, 2023 @ 4:24am
Yeah, I found the 1.0 marketing time a bit 'agressiv'.
Everyone were teased to death, getting their expectations super high, whereas we know from early access, the studio delivers but slowly.
artao Mar 10, 2023 @ 7:07am
I'm 100% with you on this OP. It's ridiculous to call Session 1.0. It's barely a beta at the moment. It's a shady business practice that needs to stop. But only massive lawsuits will stop it, and that ain't gonna happen any time soon.
The fan bois making excuses for them would be hilarious if it weren't so pathetic. Good grief. They're the sort of people who'll praise Creature no matter WHAT they do, and continue making excuses for lacking features.
The near total lack of communication from Creature is very disturbing. And inexcusable.
I warned people about Nacon. I was mocked for it. How's that workin out now eh? LMAO

I haven't even been able to play the game since it went out of Early Access just keep getting fatal errors after the publisher/developer logo.
Never modded, no files were messed with, etc. Just re-installed it and got fatal error again.
Its a joke.

I haven't touched anything that has to do with any files or anything. I install a game and then I click play. It worked fine before it was "fully released" and stopped working after it was fully released with me changing absolutely nothing.
