Price Increase
So… the community is left in wonder for some time if this was even being developed. Suddenly today, there’s a MASSIVE price increase, in which you don’t even regionally price your product, no discount, instead you overprice this and say you’re offering “a SpEcIaL pRiCe”.

Yeah, no. No offense, the software isn’t that well-known/established to be charging these massive prices. You didn’t even offer some sort of loyalty discount for card creator owners nor anything of the like.

Overall, the price isn’t justified, especially when what? Like ten people maybe use it? I’ll just wait for five years from now when a 75% discount or something happens, since currently, it’s a huge slap to the face. :candywhat::steamfacepalm:

I would like to know 1 exceptional feature that other software doesn't provide us! Being unreal engine and game developer myself for around 10 yrs, even AAA titles don't cost so much!

I like how you ignored the point about the loyalty discount. Especially seeing as how it was promised to those that had Card Creator when development started on this.

Hi there! You're absolutely correct that a special bundle was indeed offered two years ago when TTC was launched. It's common for such offers to have a limited time frame. Fortunately, there's good news in store for you—this holiday season will offer a discount on TTC, so stay tuned. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to bringing you a great deal soon!
I own this piece of Software (also the Card Creator) since the release because i hoped that it will become the "center of the Game Designer Universe" and get a lot of support from the growing community.

Well, with that price, i don't think there will be a huge community of enthusiasts. :sadcthulhu:

Literally. According to SteamDB, the software peaked at like 30 users back in November 2023. It's always gonna' be the same people using it. Not sure anybody can justify paying this price. Even more necessitated software for other things, such as 3D modelling, costs either less, or, similarly in price. But these are proven and refined software that people actually use... :steamfacepalm:
I was thinking about picking this up, but $200 is way too much. I was hesitant at half that price but now I'm completely passing it up.
At 10% of current price I would pick up immediately, at current price this is way too much. Wouldn't it be better to sell 10000 copies than 1000? The community would grow, more people will hear about it. But like #7 says, its like 30 users a day so no community growing atm I guess.
Yeah, the pricing is... puzzling. Now, I will admit that the demo is serviceable and perfectly usable for most playtesting purposes, and I guess that's where they're coming from. Thing is, though, that this isn't even remotely in the same ballpark as comparable hobbyist to light professional grade software. I can see this living in the vicinity of various RPG Maker/SMILE/Bakin titles (~60-80€ with occasional sales), Clickteam Fusion (80€) and the like - but I don't see it comparing to full professional software like Substance Painter, which is its current price category.

Obviously, I don't know sales figures and I'm sure some thought went into this pricing. I don't want to pretend to be some sort of expert in the field. As I said, just puzzled.

Only dedicated users or professionals would pay that price, and unfortunately such people likely will use other software. It would seem such software could pick up plenty of hobbyists or those starting out if the price was reduced.
I think this overpriced price is fine. Sooner or later, it will bring a positive effect in motivating local developers to work on a similar product, but at a reasonable price.
I bought almost all "creators" and "makers" on Steam and I successfully promote the quality of the social media. I will just pass the Tabletop Creator as the vast majority of others.
But it is a pity that this erroneous decision on the extreme price prevents massive expansion for this otherwise perhaps good tool.

So you priced it out of you user-base, and you know it. If you want it to gain any traction it needs to be withing AAA pricing, NOT entreprise pricing.

Your "free version" is not yet on steam. so how is that your answer?

Furthermore:

If you want to add features behind a paywall, then use a DLC license to do it, other software items do it, why can't you? Look at Facerig for instance:

Pricing on the base product $15
Pro upgrade $65
FaceRig has three versions:

FaceRig Classic is the base version of FaceRig, which allows for home non-profit use and even limited monetization on YouTube/Twitch or similar as long as the commercial aspect of it is not significant. We consider commercially significant using it on any avenue (channel) that produces you more than $500 monthly revenue. This includes ad-based revenue and voluntary donations (one time or recurrent such as a Patreon). If you are under this threshold you can use Classic, if you are above you need to upgrade to Pro or Studio.
the FaceRig Pro DLC, which allows you to monetize videos on YouTube/Twitch regardless of the monthly revenue, but not for content exclusive to paid/subscription based services, such as the new YouTube Red (for content that is exclusive to YouTube Red or similar you will need FaceRig Studio).
FaceRig Pro does not bring new assets, technical features or improvements to FaceRig Classic. For more details, take a look at the Pro DLC description
the Studio Version allows commercial use, as well as access to the expression mo-cap data. For more details about this version visit -redacted- (website no longer valid)
The pro version allows for the following, which you fail to specify within your own page:

Dual-sided items
Advanced export (for professional printing)
Git integration
Localization (translation)
Trans-media (QR codes, basically)
Online Playtesting

These are a big deal, not $200 big deal, but a big deal non-the-less

These features are NOT worth $200. You're shooting for the moon. Reasonably I'd expect $70-$80.. I don't even develop much at all, but I would consider picking it up for that price, just to tinker around with, perhaps I'd create something to play with some friends online. but for an experiment, $200 is insane

Well this aged like milk. Your most recent update has made the software VERY inconvenient to use. Blueprint duping and editing has become more of a hassle than a chore, numerous new bugs. All for a visual update no one asked for, or without any consumer testing etc etc.

Please roll back to the previous version. As of right now, I cannot recommend the software.
