Robot 2, for example: If you never have more than one die rolled, then you can't lose any. Also, since your limit break will keep rolling dice until you hit the jackpot, never use it until you're in danger of going over the limit.
Try to have extra equipment in reserve that deals elemental damage, then you can switch things up just prior to attacking an enemy with a weakness or a strength.
Also, make sure to abuse dice manipulation skills, which often earn you extra dice when you try to do something "impossible" to a 1 or a 6. In fact, this is one of the keys to beating Thief 3: Increasing a 6 or splitting a 1 will get you an extra 1. Raising the tick costs you one die, and replaces all your current dice with the new tick. This means you can navigate from 1 to 6 in two turns without it costing you anything.
Hope this helps put you in the right mindset.
Followed your tips but i still think this game is way too hard.....eg...Robot 3, i think it is...says 'A 50% chance for dice to disappear...It's actually around 95%.... !!! Absolutely ridiculous. It's very rare you get to use any equipment at all !!!
Could be a really good game . but needs extremely severe tweaking of RNG to make it a viable product imho.
Shelving it for now....what a shame :(
That said, I'm failing to see the designer's supposition that "if I lose it is almost certainly my fault" in the Warrior's elimination round. One example is the Kraken. I come up to him at level....3 or 4, I can't recall which. Regardless, I have 4 dice and cannot level up prior to fighting him. Going in at full blast (a full HP and stored fury), I get reliably every round blinded...all four dice.
At that point, I fail to see how ANY build stands a meaningful chance against it (especially since virtually every round I am ALSO getting cursed and taking steadily increasing damage). I'm basically throwing random dice at things hoping for something to happen.
Thief 2 for example. I have tried at least 20 times now, but I have never even gotten past floor 3 if at all). Thief 3, witch, 3 and robot 4 are also extremely frustrating and It feels to me, like I cannot win, no matter what I do. I think that they might be possible to beat, but only if you have an extraordinary streak of good luck throughout the whole run, which leaves a rather bad taste in my mouth.
So, yeah I totally agree that some episodes are definately too hard and need to be adjusted.
Probably just differing play styles at work? I really didn’t feel anything super lucky was happening especially in the witch episode - didn’t get life drain for example until buying it literally right before heading down to the boss. Scathach rolled a six two of the first three turns and I still managed.
Warrior three, though, clowns me badly. Still enjoying trying however!
This mod for Dicey Dungeons lowers the overall difficulty in a couple of ways:
Cuts 25% of the default HP from all enemies
Increases the effectiveness of various defensive items

Not to mention opponents rolling near perfect scores all the time.
Also I love how it's practicly multiple games in one, they change things so drasticaly from one round to another, it's really fun. The game has much bigger depth than I initially thought.
For example, you mentioned in Robot 3 about the dice having a 50% chance to vanish—what this rule actually is means that half of the six available dice will vanish each round. If you have rolled twice and neither vanished, your next roll will have a 75% chance to vanish. The hearts and skulls track how many have stayed vs vanished for the current round so that you can gauge the probability of your next roll. Take advantage of when you know your next roll is more or less likely to vanish.
I know my post isn't particularly helpful in terms of strategy, but best of luck on your future runs
