Besides, like Jackeea said, Robot's item pool is absolutely great, pretty much securing high damage from every roll.
I just run the standard Heat sink+ and Mechanical Arm and then usually with the one that deals double damage on jackpots and throw is your favorite dice manipulation and consistent damage equipment.
Meanwhile witch will either be weak as ♥♥♥♥ or the most busted out of the bunch since her potential is limitless but is the most pain in the head to play. i legit fear i can t 5head her hard enough to make her work.
47...losses...
The same....equipment...over...and over....and over...NONE of it being usable... all of them having terrible upgrade versions...
Same. This has become a brick wall to me. Does anyone have any tips how to have a better shot at beating this mode with robot?
Ultima weapon pick is good. Upgrading it as first priority is questionable. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent upgrade. But I'd upgrade Spatula over Ultima weapon no questions asked in most cases. Being able to fix 3 dice is amazing, it allows the Robot to make good use of low rolls/frozen dice, guarantees the use of odd/even equipment, and overall makes your turns fairly consistent.
@Dodgeson:
Best general advice for Elimination round is make sure you're managing your HP/Limit break properly, and abusing the full heal from level ups. Going into dangerous fights with a full Limit Break means you can often pull off a 2 turn kill, taking only one round of retaliation, which if you get high rolled will fill your Limit Break which you can use to guarantee the kill. Not doing so and taking a full extra round of damage is essentially taking double damage (on the order of like 10+) and can often be what ends your run.
If you're struggling to win with Robot, it's possible you're not evaluating equipment properly.
Try posting the equipment choices available/equipment you chose on losing runs. As an example of what a winning hand might look like:
Plasma Blaster (default)
Ray Gun (default)
Ultima Weapon (level up pick)
Healing Crystal / Small Shield
Mechanical Arm
Spatula (first priority upgrade)
Prior to finding Spatula, I ran Dopple Dice for some dice manipulation. Small Shield tends to be worse than Healing Crystal, since damage blocked by shield doesn't fill your Limit break, but they both serve similar purposes. Having one damage mitigation ability is often just enough to let you squeeze out an extra round or two required to kill that last enemy that lets you heal back to full health from a level up.
Because of the Robot's CPU mechanic, you're generally pretty interested in finding ways to make use of low rolled dice. As any turn where you naturally high roll your dice means you often only have 2-3 dice to work with which is bad. Mechanical arm isn't great, but it's an outlet for low dice rolls and a guaranteed pickup from chest. Early game getting your "3rd" damage ability is really important, especially if you started with Pea Shooter and before you acquire Ultima. For the above build, Ideally you're casting at least Ultima, Mechanical and Plasma each turn, with any extra dice going to Healing Crystal or Ray Gun. Upgraded Spatula guarantees you can feed at least a 4+ into all of those. If you don't have Spatula and started with Pea Shooter instead, drop Shooter for another dice manipulator, Bump Blade, Juggling Ball, Nudge, etc. Or if you have to, stick in a utility thing like Cheat Code, Heat Sink, etc.
The Robot does get quite a bit stronger with Parallel equipment in the pool, as you have greatly improved ability to reuse dice or spit out massive damage. Slingshot, Missing Score, Mechanical Leg are all real nice.
I somehow failed to notice the importance of the high damage output thanks to ultima weapon and the healing vs shield diff in regards to getting limit breaks.
I made it even without finding a spatula, ended up upgrading heat sink which helped with mechanical arms.
