That said, I'd love to try and figure this one out - I don't think I've seen anyone encounter this bug before! Could you send me a copy of your save files? You can find them in your "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Terry Cavanagh Games\diceydungeons" folder - just zip it up and send them to me!
Hopefully will have this one figured out soon! It's been impossible to track down!
On the "problem" machine, it seems to happen every time you try to resume a game:(
The game itself is great, and everyone is loving it, however:)
We got the game from itch (running latest version), and are running Windows 10 64 bit.
Is there anything I can do in the meantime to work around, e.g., is there something I'm doing that is triggering the problem somehow?
My son seems to think that all of his progress is being overwritten when we start a new game (e.g., he loses his fancier "cards"), so it would be nice to get around the problem.
Just here to say I've got the exact same problem. Tried disabling the firewall, trying to get the appdata/roaming folder to stop being read-only (but this seems to be working as Microsoft intended), reinstalling and rebooting multiple times..
Are there any updates on this bug?

"this one is fixed and should be in the next update".
And a somewhat workaround (I've not tried it, my kids are playing other stuff for now and I'm just stopping when the episode is over each time):

"This turned out to be a bug that could break run saves if the Jester happened to be on a floor when you saved, depending on where they were standing"
