Map Glittched in Imperator:Rome
I just downloaded the game and the map when starting a game is screwed up,sea tile textures are where land should be,land tiles textures are where sea should be,and some tiles are higher than everything else around them. The reason im saying tiles because all the glitched map textures or whatever they are called are just squares.I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue because when i googled it i got nothing.

Are your video drivers up to date? You can try validating your game.

I have experienced that before. I was modding and some combination of my heightmap.heightmap, indirection_heightmap.bmp, packed_heightmap.bmp, and heightmap.bmp were contradicting each other.
If you are not using mods then try to Verify Integrity.
If you are using a mod changes the height map and let the author know.

If all else fails reinstall the game.

no mods are being used, ill delete the heightmap files and verify integrity

UPDATE
I think i found the source of the issue, but i dont know how to fix it. packed_heightmap.bmp seems to have been causing it,because i deleted it accidentally and loaded up the game just to see what'd happen, and the glitch was gone, instead what should've been land turn into the sea but with a lighter shade than the actual sea.
this is what the map looks like without the packed file https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1735934903
the only solution i can think of would just be getting somebody elses file for this, but i doubt that'd even be possible since you're literally spreading files from a game that has copyright and whatnot

If verifying does not work and you don't want to have everyone underwater then you could try running a mod that changes the hightmap. I know that both Emendatio Historiae Imperatoris and Imperators' Navigable Rivers change the hightmap. You won't be getting achievements with them but you probably would not be getting achievements anyway with the map looking like that.

About a year old, have the same exact tile problem. Read everything here. Tried mods, running low, reinstall ect. We're you able to find the solution? Thanks in advance

no solution. i talked to a dev and chances are your computer doesn't have the right GPU or whatever.basically he said they didn't support my particular CPU or GPU or something and had no intention of ever doing so. Maybe a custom mod could fix it, i honestly don't know, but none available fix it.

That's what I was afraid of. Put this game on the shelf until I get a new system. Appreciate you letting me know. Thanks!

I did find a mod that works. It's called Simplified Graphics. It makes a simple map, quite lackluster more like an older Paradox game but it works. So if you ever resurrect wanting to play. Try that one
