But so far I am finding it fantastic in depth.... once I gotten over that UI color annoyance.
https://imperator.paradoxwikis.com/Imperator_Wiki
Tons of mechanics I like, even if I start someplace in a tribal holding. trough to sparta.
But somehow this game falls flat.. it is about Nations trough Characters.
While the Nation part is really well done, the Character part is weird in a way.
cause when your character dies... you simply switch to totally somebody else who you had no relationship with, family that you have no relationship with.
For a game where the main setting is ROME, glory and fall of rome for example.
It starts off with totally trivilant characters. it get worst with each succession.
So this a part where characters instead of enriching the game makes it bit worst.
So no use to procreate family, but the option is there.. no use to enrich the stories.
Just build up a NATION and conquer all again. while a lot of mechanics are tied to characters.
I can understand now why they stop it, or shelved it.
Cause between Imperator Rome and CK3, CK3 is superior.
Between Imperator Rome and EUIV, EUIV is superior. with less handicap cause no characters involved.
It is one of those games, where on paper looks terrific, mechanical wise it is terrific.
But when playing it, and you go futher into the depth of the game.
It simply falls apart... I do understand why some people like it.
But can also understand why some don't.
