Invictus Mod .. any good?
I'm new to the game and so decided to play with Invictus mod, but think that might be a mistake. Appears to have made the game more complicated and removed some features that I had seen in videos. For example the View Pops screen you can NO longer do anything with pop? wtf. Why would you remove that? Unless somebody can tell me it's really better over-all to have this mod, think I'm going to ditch it.

thanks

Also, when starting the game as Rome, like all your pop groups are already unhappy. That seems kind of silly. Don't think that's quite historical from what I have read about this period. Always going to be some unhappiness, but seems these #s are very low. Which is why in my first play-through all the happiness bottomed out and people didn't produce much of anything in 2 years. Research went to 65%, lol. I understand I'm still learning but the 1st game I followed a youtube video on how to play Rome. So it wasn't like I was just making mistakes, was using a pros advice. But guessing he wasn't using the Invictus mod, since he didn't have the same issues I had with wide spread unhappiness and starving pops after 1 year. Was bad and no point continuing that game.

It is vanilla light mod. Most of what it does is add mission trees for a bunch tags that never had anything. You can even turn off the seasonal food gathering if you don't like that.

Did you watch a guide on Imperator 2.0 or from before? Because the game was changed quite a lot.

Your happiness issues are not something you can't overcome, but if you think it is an issue, just play without it. The mod doesn't really do much for Rome.
no, it's bad

no didn't watch video on 2.0. will look for those.
I did turn turn off the season food feature in invictus.
Did see that you could turn off happiness, is that a thing you can do?

Invictus compartmentalizes areas with more religions which creates significant barriers to expansion. For Rome this especially marked as vanilla Rome can easily spread into Hellenic areas and maintain loyalties in the early game given a "reasonable" stability.

I would not recommend any beginner use Invictus unless you like pain. I have 5000+ hours and still won't use it as there are a lot of extra options (aka clicking) that detracts from my favorite part of the game (maintaining loyalties and managing expansion based to leveraging strategic advantages). An example of this would be Rome expanding initially into Hellenic territities until the proper innovations are unlocked to enable conquests into wrong religion/wrong culture areas.

I would atleast play a few games in vanilla over doing modded gameplay just so you have an understanding of what the game expects of you. Rome is, quite literally, the op protagonist if you compare this to anime.

not loving pain is incomprehensible to me.
I don't think you can disable happiness, no.
