Should I use 2.04 Beta or 2.04 Beta-old for the latest Invictus or TI?
Thank you.
Both work with Invictus, can't say anything about TI (as never tried). I recommend to let the game take "2.0.4 beta", just the newest version. Else, logically, you wouldn't get the updates listed in opening post. While in both cases, a lot is overwritten by Invictus anyway.
PS: Invictus and TI are pretty much the same if you add a few more things like FMO and UI enhancements to Invictus. TI is Invictus mechanics with these things directly bundled. I started with Invictus as I reasoned (like most Paradox titles) if I am playing mainly in the Med that TI (all of China/Asia) is just going to make things run slower.
New Update to Open Beta
# Bugfixes
- Fix release as client state crash in the UI
I know and certainly a very well made mod. But these features were the points for me to not try TI ;)
First of all, including China is a no-go for my taste in this game. And i'm myself a modder (retired, just personal usage only), and in meantime i have a total custom IR overhaul (based on Invictus and many other mods).
However, latest with IR 2.0.4, Pdx did a great job. It (was) or still is criminally underrated. It became my favorite Pdx grand strategy and i have tons of their titles, lol.
This was also very good timing because they just messed up CK3 with legitimacy nonsense.
Gaming has changed. There are a few games like WITE-2 which are complete masterpieces, but many more which are mainly engines upon which modders build amazing things like: EB1, EB2, DEI, ... Truly it ends up being the engine+overhaul which is the full experience.
I am fine with PDS having abandoned IR and modders doing Invictus and TI. PDS would simply be milking IR or more like parasitically sucking its/our life blood as they have done with other products. These days modders are the people who have true passion and love of games and what they model. I know that there are developers who truly produce labors of love, but sadly they are directed by suits looking to monetize every arrow, faction, event, siege ... the greed has gotten so bad that it can make you sick of your hobby and forever playing retro titles.
