I try to play Vic 3 but I just can't get into it and end up uninstalling.
I do wonder if some people don't get into Imperator because of the time period. A lot of the younger generation have no clue who any of the nations are so harder for them to relate (except for Rome).
Have fun guys.
Imperator Rome might be the most beginner friendly Paradox title with CK3? EU4 and HOI4 needs hours and hours of guides reading.
I don't know why people think this. I could pick up EUIV very easily - the game basically has three 'resources' that the entire thing revolves around with basic country objectives. It's the easiest, by far, PDX game. HoI4 is also very easy, it's literally just a game of 'will this strategy work or not' where, if you die during a war, you just sort of restart it all.
Imperator and CK3? There's so much weird little stuff to pay attention to that all the tedium gets to be overwhelmingly obnoxious. Multiple leader characters with multiple stats to track, loyalties on them changing from who knows what milestone (why is their country in ruins and how long will it be in ruins? Is this something I have to manually fix or will it fix itself over time? I have no idea because the game never tells you and the tutorial is absolute trash). Can I build additional levies/armies like in EUIV or am I just stuck with whatever my starting levies are? Is there a warscore I can look at to see how far I need to go in order to reach my claims in a war? What are the benefits of importing what good? I don't know, I have no idea, because the game gives literally no inclination about any of it.
In I:R you can raise more armies by integrating cultures or using other tools like law, or use mercenaries. There's a wars ore with a war goal easily accessible. Benefits for goods are written on the goods. The game provides most of what you need.
