What happend to the game?
I am regular PDX game player but I never played Imperator: Rome specifically, but I could not miss the sudden rise to 97% approval in recent reviews.
What is going on? Is the game good?

Only the base game vanilla + mods = @ 80% sale = the reviews you see now.

Always look at the entire reviews not only the ones who were on sale reviews.

Have a nice day.

And even more important, many new updates and yea very good mods...

Actually, it's best to look only at the posts from recent times, not from launch when it hadn't yet been fixed.

(N.B. don't listen to Troxter, he's full of Pdx-hate and just posts ill-thought-through negative flame-bait all the time. And he doesn't actually want you to have a nice day - if he did, he'd be less randomly negative about everything.)

IR is a niche favourite of some fans. Lately the community has been trying to get behind it and revive it. There are some great mods and various paradox-partnered content creators have been making videos on IR to rekindle the flame.

The idea is that if the community gets behind the game, Paradox will return to it and release more content.

So in your opinion, it's more a question of money than demonstrating that the game is worth what it is being asked for.

Or only the vanilla game + game mods @ 80% off on sale.

How many players have shares in the company and who bought the game @ 80% to give better reviews?

The game is not going to be revived. 2000 players isnt enough to justify new development.

The reason people want new development is because Invictus and Terr Incognita are making I:R the game Johan wanted it to be.

The game is getting some traction because it's recently attracted a new resident troll but dont expect any more DLC, which I actually think is a good thing. Let the game be what the game is and let EUV take some of the ideas and refine them.

I've been here since Hoi2.

That's a long way to go, right?

You just didn't notice my presence.

I still stand by what I said years ago: Imperator is a way better standalone game than CK3, Vic3 or EU4 was one-two year(s) after launch -- mainly hampered by "hate-train" mentality despite the numerous fixes and overhauls to the game, and the ensuing abandonment before any meaningful DLC (and the accompanying free patches).

It's a good game without mods... version 2.0 came out and was shortly after put on hiatus. The mods make the game just that much better by extending the map to japan (terra indomita mod), adding more mission trees and events.
Mr_Faorry Mar 22, 2024 @ 5:55pm
At launch and for a long time after the game was pretty bare bones and had some poor systems people really didn't like, and it's poor reputation was well deserved.
The 2.0 update however addressed many of these issues people had with the game getting it to the stage that it should have released in, however the game was abandoned shortly after because it was considered 'too little too late' by higher ups at Paradox.

Now people are finally starting to come around to the current state of the game and realising it's far better than how it was at launch/ actually a good game now.
There's also some neat mods nowadays like Invictus which adds more flavour or Terra Indomita which expands to map eastward all the way to Japan which helps its reputation too.

At least you can admit you're a troll. That's a start.

Dont worry. I won't notice you again after I block you one of these days. For now it's too entertaining observing and calling out utter ridiculousness.

He's been in the IR Forums since HoI2?
He's not just a troll, he's a timetravelling troll

Calm down children and go play with your toys and stay calm.
TROXTER Mar 23, 2024 @ 3:53am
Maybe leaving this game at 80% or reducing its price or even doing like CK2 leaving it free would be a good start to attract players.

I think that would be a good idea.

How come you havent played the game but you write as if you were an expert in it?

And besides the petty attempt (the children playing with toys) at trolling you still havent answered what Galadon said about time travelling.

If you want to follow your small joke, consider that good children save their pocket money for (for instance) buying games at full price. Also, good children are patient enough to wait for next sale.
