Auto trade doesn't work

Tried setting every province to auto trade, now I keep getting spammed by random messages like "rome refused to sell you wood" and nothing is actually traded unless I do it manually =/

It does work over time, some resources become very scarce and I think these provinces that are set to auto will keep tabs on specific resources. Once available, they'll get it. It does take time but if you just set it to auto and forget about it for a bit, you will start to notice that they start filling up their trade routes. I had to disable that popup because it was getting annoying seeing that come up constantly.

Couple times now I've noticed that one of my provinces secured some hard to get stuff and it was nice to be able to cancel it there and grab it in my capital!
