Quick question on Roman Triplex Acies army composition
Hi, I'm playing Rome and I'm planing to put all my main forces on Triples Acies tactic. I will put HI as a core of my army. Currently I have 6A/9HI/4HC/1Donkey and I'm thinking about modifying it a little to get as universal composition as possible (lazy build).
Firstly I'm thinking about my primary and secondary cohorts. Are archers worth it? Or is it better if I go all HI instead? Or maybe replace Archers with LI since TA gives bonuses to LI?
Secondary, are HC good or should I replace it with LC for higher maneuver and TI bonus?

Heavy cav and horse archers
archers are cheaper and lower supply users so are worth it in my book, HC is nice in battle but low maneuver and high cost and supply usage makes me use HC in one army and LC in other army(s). I use the HC army in high supply areas and the LC armies everywhere else.

HC are strong, but its questionable if they are worth it. With enough modifiers focus an army of Li could beat an army of HC...

archers are worth it unless something as cheap has many positive modifiers

Yea, that is why I use them, I may not be optimal but they are good for saving money and supply and if you use nothing but HI and your opponent has an army and tactic that counters HI you have a fallback.
to be fair i never really look into armies unless i am playing as a very weak nation against a strong one or i have already conquered so much land that i have to wait for agressive expansion to fall so i dont think it matters that much
That is true, but i am a role player type who tries to make appropriate armies depending on who I am playing.
oh maybe i should play a game or two like that
