Can we use the ~ console to cheat yet? I hate the fact that they took it away because they messed up and made it possible to use during ironmode.

use some sort of trainer if you are going to cheat. However, I strongly advise against it as does completely kill the fun for the game and make the developers pull out their remaining teeth.

Nonsense, why should the devs not like you using cheats in Single-Player?

They do mind if you cheat in ironman or Multiplayer, but they don't care if you do in Single-Player.

Then you must have made a mistale along the way, maybe a spelling mistake.

Works for me and others so it has to be a problem on your end.

Maybe tell me what exactly you did so we can figure it out? And copy exactly how you wrote the parameter.

-add "-console" (without quotes) in starting parameters for Rome
- start game
- launcher opens
- select "start"
- game starts
- press "^" - left from"1" (German layout) on keyboard in game (new game, not iron man)
- no reaction in game

- even with US layout it doesnt't work
- also "~", "´" etc do not work

PS: seems the German version of the game is bugged. Cause I also can not play multiplayer (even without starting parameters) and ingame are some placeholders.

Hm, are there regional differences?

I am German too and live in Germany, although I play the game in English. But I doubt that would change anything since that wouldn't change the region.

I am also using a German Keyboard and it works for me, no need to use a US layout, having to hit the key you mentioned.

Edit:

Hm, I just checked the website, maybe there's the problem, because I actually set the starting parameter as "-debug_mode", not "-console".

Maybe try that.

I now patched Paradox launcher and now console works (but still no multiplayer, but okay never play it).

probably can't play multiplayer in debug mode.....for obvious reasons.

Even with out debug mode it doesnt work. I dpnt play multiplayer, so not a problem for me.

As with bigkosy, I'd ask you to write us your exact steps so we can see if you made a mistake, also maybe update and/or reinstall the game and see if that works.

I've been having the same problem -debug_mode doesnt work, do I have to type -console instead?
