Why do you think they are ugly? Are you talking about the style? the features on people? or what? Personally I have no problem with them in terms of what I have seen
But why do you care? You already stated several times that you will not buy this game the first 2 - 3 years anyway. So what does it concern you? Infact all you have done on this forum if take stabs at the game because you obviously have something against it (maybe you can't afford it?)
I might buy it on release, I might delay considering it for a year, I might never buy it. I don't have anything against a game because that would be a futile, misplaced and incredibly stupid thing to spend my time on. I tell it how it is. I can easily afford to buy it several times over, that doesn't mean I will buy it. I certainly won't buy it on Steam.
So my great argument as to why Paradox games are awesome and gets enhanced all the time swayed you to another opinion now? Or are you just trying to troll or look interested.
I understand you might not have much cash to spend and that 40euro might be alot for you, but there is no reason to keep being negative, keep reusing the old already countered arguments in new threads. Just accept that you might like MP FPS games more than this genre and move on. There is absolutely no reason for you to keep this bashing up and yes some of us consider you a mere troll now, since you keep reusing the same arguments in every single thread!
You keep saying you need 2 hours per 1 euro.
You have put up good reviews of but not excluded
152 hours field of glory 2
46 hours xcom 2
111 hours on hoi4
13 hours on endless ledgend
22 hours on Fallout 4
Over 80 hours on Europa universalis 4 (but you say you hardly played it)
Plenty of games were not "worth if for you" in terms of your own difinion, but HoI4 was (even EU4 was for you and you gave it a positive review)
You like field of Glory 2 (I have no interest in that) but accept that for its price that might be good if people like those type of games (see I don't need to flame other games)
You hated most of the newer Sega games (like Rome 2) understandable, most people did.
What I don't get is the sudden hate for Paradox games, if we look on your own "weird in my opinion" 1 euro for each 2 hours of gameplay (I would rather look at the general enjoyment and not just hours) then most of the Paradox games are worth it to you, well Stelleris is not.
You talk alot about how expensive the Paradox games are and how they will be after a few years due to DLC's (the alternative is buying a new title every ½ - 1 year instead of enhacing) to me it looks like someone that actually wants to play this game and if you look at what you wrote about European Universalis Rome (a game that gave me mixed feelings, albeit it was a smaller title from Paradox) then things suggest you really want this type of game..
So is this instead a money issue? It looks like it for me. Then you have to think about priorities (gaming should be low) but when you do buy, then what do you want the most? Its a perfectly fine option to buy Paradox games on release (they are full fledged featured games!!!!! they might have bugs or rather they do, like every other game) and then buy dlc's on sale.. That is alright if you don't have cash to burn..
But.. please refrain from all the same arguments that have already been shot down in several other threads and please instead be honest about your opinion.. You tell me you might buy this, but as my quote suggest you already said you would never buy Paradox games again.
I enjoy all sorts of games and I am still seriously considering buying Imperator in fact I am going through the dev diaries at the moment. I may change my mind and buy it. Whether I will enjoy it enough to get 80hrs out of it I dont know.
Of all the Paradox games I have probably enjoyed Victoria 2 the most and yet its not got a lot of gameplay spent on it. But of course gametime can include times when the computer was just left on with the game running it doesnt necessarily reflect time spent actually playing the game. That might have been done with HOI4 I dont know but certainly I feel like I enjoyed HOI2 more than HOI4 and yet I only ever played the scenarios in HOI2, I never played a campaign.
Enjoyment is weird and how you rate quality of gaming is weirder. At the moment I am into Roman games and I am considering Imperator as well as Field of Glory Empires and also just sticking with Aggressors, which I am enjoying at the moment.
I am weighing up whether I want to buy another Paradox game because of the dlc issues and because of the fact they do tend to go into the far end with the gameplay which does sometimes bore me to death. EU4 for example was terribly dull for me and I havent played the game for years - since I got out of date with the dlc actually. And Stelleris I thought was an atrocious game.
So regarding my arguments against Paradox I still feel justified in complaining about their style of game and marketing practices, even with the extent of my Paradox library. I dont think that makes me a hippocrit quite the opposite - as I have a lot of gametime with their games over the years, I know a bit of what I am talking about. That makes my view just as warranted as yours.
