Deluxe Edition: Is it worth it?

Looking to prepurchase this game as it caught my on Praetorian's channel. Is the Deluxe Edition even worth mentioning, or should I just buy the base game and save my money? The only perk i've heard of the Deluxe giving is different unit skins, which I can just mod in...

I'm just looking for people's opinions and what they think, or what they know. I had no idea this game existed until I saw it on Praetorian's channel.

I bought it because I can afford it, and I like variety. It just depends on how much you value your money in comparison to the product in question. Mods are also unreliable.

Actually, no, based on other Paradox games such as EU4 and CK2, Deluxe edition only adds cosmetics (units packs, music packs, and such) No gameplay improvement anyhow. If you are aware of that and want the greeks to look more greek than roman, then go ahead, but these games are made for big strat management and how my units looks I couldn't care less.

For some cosmetic add-ins for Epirus and a couple of events? No. Maybe for the artbook if you're into that kind of thing. Though you'll probably eventually be able to get all of that on some sale, and waiting would be the smarter option.

I still got it, though, because I don't have enough self control and because for a few seconds it made me feel closer to being able to finally play the game. 🤷

Epirus skins/events are the pre-order bonus, not a part of the deluxe, just fyi.

With delux edition you just got 6 events around Alexandar the great legacy and some skins for greek units. Nothing thats worth 15$ in my opinion.
My guess is that in few months time we will get option to upgrade to delux edition and if paitient enoughe youllget it on sale much cheaper. No reason to hurry to get it right away

Oh, well, still, cosmetic stuff and some events that will only matter to a completionist. If you want it and don't mind the cost, go for it, if you want it and you do mind the cost wait for a sale (or, for the events, look up what they do in the wiki once the information is up and mod them in yourself), if you don't want it, the game will still be just as good and you won't miss anything. 🤷

but the unite skins so they look more "greek" will the skins effect for example Sparta ? or is it only the nations it describes?

Just Epirus, I believe, but expect more of these down the line. Paradox is pretty good about DLC skin changes for various nations once all the core game is out and any early bugs are caught and handled. As popular is Greece is, I wouldn't be surprised to see a pack that gives unique units for all the major Greek city-states.

As ever, it's a matter of personal opinion. If you've just now discovered the game, though, my advice would definitely be to wait until you've played it a bit, then go back and get the deluxe edition content if you enjoy it. I'm pretty sure you can do that... I COULD be wrong, so you might wanna doublecheck first. I'm pretty sure that's the way it works, though.

They must know they have to put in the spartan skin along the line. It's such an iconic outfit. It's included in their DLC madness... master plan for sure.

For any interested GMG has a 15 off coupon on the game and this coupon "SPQR25" gives you a whopping 25% off, just used it and can confirm the standard edition was 29.99. Since it is part of the daily deals though i believe it expires in just a few hours.
