instead of using BCE as Before Common Era refer it as Before Christian Era :)

Religion
The system is based around christianity and the majority of the planets population is NOT christian. Hence the prefix was changed to BCE/CE to make it more suited for players of other beliefs.
If you want it to say BC instead, your best bet would be getting a mod that does it.
It is highly unlikely paradox will give you the choice between three time measures (AUC, BCE and BC) especially since BCE and BC are technically the same thing.
Political correctness.
I don't think it's being PC so much as realizing the idiocy of basing your calendar on the birth of some mythical figure that many in the world don't even recognize as a deity. It's also not correct, since the historical Jesus wasn't born on New Year's Day, 0 AD.
Historically Jesus existed, we have records of that.
No he was not born on Christmas Day 0 CE
The date was placed at what became Christmas Eve/Day because it was already a pagan festival (winter solstice) celebrated widely throughout the empire
The year was selected around 500 years after the fact for convenience. They didn't know the exact year so they threw a ball at it and hoped they'd hit close to the mark
As for the mythos surrounding Jesus I will not get into a true or false debate. Some believe them to be true, some believe them to be false
They didn't use "BCE" either... That's not the point that's being made here. They used AUC, following the span of time since Rome was founded. The point OP is making is BC vs. BCE for us modern gamers who are playing the game today.
The Christ figure is mythical, and the carpenter's son Jesus was a real person. He is both mythical, as the Son of God/the Messiah/etc. and historical, as a simple agitator. They definitely do not exclude each other.
I will just mod it at some point if it's possible.
I am still wondering why an arbitrary, and it is abritrary btw, unit of measurment is triggering people because it no longer refers to a guy who died 2000 years ago. And not only that but its an optional mouseover so we the pkayer can square it with our more CURRENT sense of time and accurate calender. Why dont we use the outmoded Julian calender too since it was the one use when ole JC walked the earth?
Stupid, arbitrary and illogical. And quite frankly childish and annoying. Get over yourselves people.
