Vassals not helping me salt Carthage, pls help!
My vassal swarm is just sitting in Italy and not joining me. It's annoying because I sieged down most of Carthage but I eventually lost ground after Carthage Merc Spammed. There's like 40k untouched troops on the italian pennisula just sitting there looking at me. I set my fleets to allow attachments and gave them the mission to transport troops, but the AI is still just sitting there eating glue. I'm very frusterated with the whole situation. I really hope I'm just missing something.

I know the AI is capable of launching naval invasions, because Carthage attacked mainland Italy in that fashion before. Is it confirmed that allies can use use your ships?

I hope so. No one else seems to have had this problem, I hope it's not a bug. I searched everywhere for an answer and decided just to post about it here.

My assumption would be that your allies would have to have their own ships, and if you're talking about Rome's starting subject states, two of them wouldn't have any and the other two wouldn't have enough. My assumption could be wrong though. GOOD LUCK!
Allies cannot use your ships. The best you can do is hunt down carthages fleet and sink it so your allies can use their (much smaller) fleets to transport troops, if they even have ships.

If not, get used to have a home guard :X

Yeah that's a massive oversight :c Well i murdered Carthage's poor poor fleet after declaring war on them while they were stuck in iberia. I guess my allies never made ships

As Carthage my client states have been quite useful but tributaries and tribal vassals almost never help. In my second and third wars in Iberia my local vassals helped, but since then they've just sat on their hands. I thought maybe they only came in when adjacent to the target and thus eligible to gain territory, but now I've had several wars where that was possible and nada. Opinion and loyalty are high.

Silver Santana, I *have* had clients board my ships - and several more times they tried to and I moved the ships because I wanted their armies to stay in Iberia. There's nobody to fight in North Africa; I vassalized everybody; I don't want their armies to go home.

Did you try enabling the option for client state armies to attach them selves to your units?
