How can I transport legions over water?
Hello

I have a problem, i have an army that i want to transport over water, so it doesn't work somehow, the fleet is in the harbour but i can't load the units on the ship. The army is 13000 men strong, the fleet has 6 triremes.

Thank you for helping!

regards

For every cohort you have you'll need a ship. So if you have 13 cohorts as you do, you'll need 13 ships. You have to move the ships out of the port and onto the area of sea next to the land where the troops are. Then you can just tell the troops to walk onto the ships. When you want them to land somewhere, just tell them to walk from the ships to land in the same way.
You need equal number of ships to the number of units. You have to get the ships to sea and then move the units onto the ships that way. The size of the units doesn't matter. So if you have 10 units but they are only 500 each due to damage you still need 10 ships for 5000 men.

You can also set the fleet to transport troop automation and then just select the army and click where you want it to land.

While you build more ships, you can split your armies in 6000 + 6000 +1000, and start transporting part of it already.

Also seems weired they wont load in a port so have them at sea when bording or crossing

It's the same in other Paradox games, your float needs to be at sea (and not in port) to load units.

That's a very counter-nature design that really should be reversed.
