The Cicero Update - Military Experience
Here's another couple of items that Johan has revealed about the Cicero update. As usual, I'll posts links to the discussions and the text so that you don't have to go there if you don't want to.

The first is about the new resource, military experience:

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/military-experience-in-cicero.1196882/

and the text:

Military Experience is a new resource in Cicero, which is used to get traditions. Each tradition you take costs 100 experience.

You gain experience basically by the average experience of all your cohorts. High warexhaustion will increase it a little bit, and relying on mercenaries will reduce it.

The second related link is about drilling and cohort experience

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/drilling-and-cohort-experience-in-cicero.1197008/

and here's the text:

I talked a little bit about Military Experience this morning (https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/military-experience-in-cicero.1196882/)

Another thing we're adding to Cicero is a new ability to armies called Drill.

Drill will give you experience each month, for a higher chance of the cohorts becoming loyal to their commander, and a small extra monthly payment.

Experience on cohorts have also changed
- You now get more experience from combat.
- You do not lose experience from reinforcing.
- Experience on cohorts now decay, relative to their current experience.
- Various inventions and other attributes can reduce your decay.

Tomorrow I'll give you some more information about "mana" removal.

Have a nice day

I suppose if they wanted they could add terrain experience when drilling on certain terrain. For example Hill fighters, forest fighters, plain fighting efficiency etc when you drill on that terrain.

I am playing HOI 4 and I thought that might work there.

Offcourse I am just thinking out loud, and maybe it would be a bad idea.

Maybe, they could add "Army Traditions" along with a "Professionalism" slider... woah, could only imagine how challenging that would be to design

And what about a large army builder ?

I am the only player who reached the late game or what ? Dude I have 40 x 70 cohorts it's a pain to build new ones an replace fallen ones.

In all honesty, the amount of players to reach late game is probably less than 10% lol I actually really enjoyed the game up until I felt comfortable enough to play through to late game, now I'm on the hate bandwagon

As I stated in my review, the game actually feel like an Early Access state. It will be a decent game... later... later.

Johan seems to be working flat out. The updates have gone from a weekly development diary to daily tidbits. We've still got two months to go. I have a feeling that the game is going to be transformed to a degree that we can't yet quite appreciate.

Indeed, the updates continue to trickle out. Related to the topic of the OP, he posted this yesterday:

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/monarch-effects-in-cicero.1197252/&sdpDevPosts=1

The value use is taken from the ruler, co-ruler or consort.

Martial
+1% Manpower Recovery Speed per Martial.
+1% Army Morale Recovery per Martial. (base values decreased some to balance)

Charisma
-0.01 Monthly Tyranny per Charisma
+0.2 Monthly Claim Progress per Charisma

Finesse
+2% Commerce Income per Finesse
-2% Build Cost per Finesse

Zeal
+0.01 Monthly Stability Change per Zeal
-0.01 Monthly War Exhaustion per Zeal (base values decreased as well)

Also be aware that the governor policies in the capital region is multiplied by the finesse value.

and further in the thread:

Charisma impacts how quickly cohorts becomes loyal.

and then he talked about families in this post:

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/families-in-cicero.1197343/&sdpDevPosts=1

Some changes with Families in Cicero.

- Families now keep track of how many children they have in total.
- Courtsize limit lowered to 120 (only non-foreign counted)
- Foreign characters will now have less children.
- Families with less than 4 current children will now be allowed more children.

Here is a screenshot from my Thrace game...
