Right now I see 1600 ppl playing IR and 15k playing EU4.
Some would like the game to be somewhat historically immersive as opposed to a map painter with a historical skin on top. Whether or not this is a reasonable desire is debatable but from my point of view, certainly understandable.
I'm pretty sure one doesn't need to compare to another game to determine the historicity of this game based upon on its own merits.
There is no flavor to the game, it feels like a simplified EU4 mod with pretty graphics.
Rome Total War (the original) obliterates this piece of garbage. "But it's not apples to apples! Special pleading! REEEE!" Just watched Republic of Play. Game is still early access.
