We hope you are doing well. Due to the global epidemic, we’ve transitioned to working remotely, but that shouldn’t have a significant impact on our roadmap schedule. Today we are happy to announce the latest Secret Neighbor update.

\As suggested by many of you, this time, in order to improve your in-game experience, we have concentrated our focus mainly on balance. The other thing we've improved is performance — the game should run slightly better now.


Based on your feedback we’ve decided to decrease the stun duration in order to incentivize players to avoid Neighbor more, instead of engaging head-on.



Based on the statistics, Inventor is not very appealing to the majority of players. That was a surprise to us, since Inventor has some pretty powerful abilities. However, now Inventor is stronger than ever, and we hope it will see more play. Here’s what changed:

• New Inventor crafting UI
  
• Inventor is now able to craft keycards for the first and second stage doors
  
• The rifle now costs 10 gears instead of 5, but there are almost twice as many gears on the map

Leader also remains an unpopular choice according to our statistical data, which is why we added a few more abilities to power up the character and emphasize her supportive nature.

• Leader can remove teammates' debuffs, including knock, stun, blinding, slow down, smoke grenade damage, etc.
  
• Leader’s stun duration is cut by 50%

We've added the leprechaun costume and the beaver hat. Enjoy!

We’re still at work on Secret Neighbor to make the best Social Horror experience for you. In our New Year’s update, we talked about the new emotes system a bit, and how we wanted players to be able to express themselves despite language barriers or playing with no microphone. We also mentioned that there would be a new ping system, designed to encourage collective and collaborative efforts among the players. Now it’s time to use these systems! Have a look:


“Say Hi”- sometimes you have to take the first step and show your mates your friendly intentions. Do that by saying “Hi” to other players.
"OK"&"No" - straightforward and often useful ways to voice your agreement or disagreement.
“Keep it down”- if you know the Neighbor is near you can warn the others to not make a sound and hide.
"It's not safe here!" - The Neighbor is nearby, but you're not sure where exactly? Let your teammates know they should be cautious.
“You are the Neighbor!” - the best way to protect your mates is to reveal the real Neighbor in public. That is, of course, if you are 100% sure who the Neighbor is.
“A cry for help” - It is exactly what it sounds like. Let your mates know that you need help.
“Found a key”- if you found a key but don’t have enough space in your inventory, just tell your mates about it. This tool can be even more powerful in combination with the ping system.

Simply ping any location around you, and your mates will see it for a few seconds. This simple tool helps players communicate items locations to each other.


Emotes and ping systems are designed to make your social experience better, but needless to say, the Neighbor could use all these tools to confuse other players. Beware of suspicious calls.


Both emotes and ping systems are contextual. It means that the message you're conveying through pinging or using an emote will differ depending on what you're targeting. This means you can pass the information onto your teammates quickly and efficiently. Here's the list of contextual items for the first iteration of the ping system:
