Looking, dashing, and Moving is janky
I'm not quite sure how to put it. So if I turn and try to teleport in a direction, then the analog stick directions seem to get wonky. Like if I'm pushing forward in that direction then teleport, and I try to move left, suddenly I'm going backwards or forwards like the orientation needs resetting after every dash. If you stop and start moving again it will reset, but that's not optimal for the heat of battle.
In addition, trying to even dash around can be arduous. Like those sorcerers that love backflipping over you to attack. First of all, the turning is done in tiny-ass increments so I can't turn around quickly at all unless I turn my whole body, which immediately makes the directional moving go wonky again. And if I try to look over my shoulder and teleport, there's a good chance I won't dash the way it indicated I would land. So if you get surrounded, just pause the game and abandon the run and save yourself some time. It doesn't help that your movement speed so toe-curlingly slow that you could be outpaced by snails.
This came to a head for me when the tier 2 or 3 sword-wielding elite dudes got off one of his long combos that good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ luck blocking against if you have a slow weapon in either hand and I tried to dash away. Dashing backwards made me hit a wall, so I tried to look and dash away another way, but it was taking a long time so I lost all of my health as I did so (Incidentally, wouldn't it be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nice if the invincibility after being hit didn't last half a nanosecond? I mean really, unless the enemy was already swinging that strike then you'll be hit by the next one in their combo), then when I finally did dash I was completely turned around and tried to slowly snap-turn back to face him, only to get killed by his lunging strike.
If this isn't clear enough, I really can't explain it any better.

Go to your options and set it so your movement is always based on where you are looking, easy fix lol

They already are. As I said, it's the dashing that causes it to go wonky.

Hi Waki ♥♥♥♥,

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue. It sounds like the major issue bothering you is that "like if I'm pushing forward in that direction then teleport, and I try to move left, suddenly I'm going backwards or forwards like the orientation needs resetting after every dash. If you stop and start moving again it will reset, but that's not optimal for the heat of battle". To investigate into this issue, we will need some information from you. What headset and controllers are you using? What platform are you running the game on, if you are playing the game through Steam, are you running with SteamVR version or OculusVR version?

Thank you very much!

I'm playing using an Oculus Rift S, playing through SteamVR.
Cheers for following up and look forward to seeing this game update and leave early access

Hi Waki,

Thanks for your response, we will look into this issue. If you could provide a video of the behavior you are describing or the steps you follow to get into this state - it would be very helpful for us to track it down.

We have a VR video capture guide here https://www.reddit.com/r/UntilYouFall/comments/dmklq3/vr_video_capture_guide/

Thank you very much!

This might be in the same vein, but I also feel really inconsistent snap turning when the late game assassins teleport behind you, if they teleport, you camera does a complete 180 degree turn instead of the normal 30 degree ish turn. Really gets too inconsistent to handle when its snapping to random enemies. Is there a way to turn off snapping to enemies?

I haven't played this game in quite a while and just went back to try out the latest update. While the difficulty balance has improved a lot, the same can't be said about the movement, unfortunately. It really feels clunky and unfitting for the otherwise fast-paced gameplay.

Dashing and turning being on the same analog stick (Oculus Touch Controls) often caused me to unintentionally dash mid-fight when I just wanted to face the enemy closing in on me, exposing me completely and depleting my dashes so I couldn't even get away.

Fencing off stronger and stronger enemies is incredibly fun, but trying not to get surrounded just isn't. I really like the game for its reaction- and skill-based gameplay, but as soon as multiple enemies close in on you, it only becomes frustrating because you are forced into hit-and-run-tactics. And the movement controls are just not made for this.

I feel like there are two main problems:

The limited amount of dashes can really throw you off mid-fight. A certain action sometimes working and sometimes not can be really confusing. In my opinion, it would make more sense to always be able to dash, but if you want to stagger an enemy you have to charge it with some kind of energy that replenishes over time.

Normal movement and especially rotation is painfully slow. I usually play in a narrow space with my back to a wall - I can't physically turn around if there's something behind me, so I'm forced to use the in-game rotation. During a fight this becomes really clunky; you have to block attacks while fiddling for the analog stick to rotate, one increment at a time. I would really like to see a quick turn option (maybe press the stick) to instantly turn into the direction your head is facing. (This would probably also solve my problem with the accidental dashes)

Apart from that, I really really like the game - keep up the good work!
