Chaos is a Ladder

OK, so full disclosure I've played this game since its initial release way back when, too many hours in it to be proud about because its a solid fun game to kill an hour with. Some achievements are super niche and not really my play style, but one above all other is IMPOSSIBLE now.

Chaos is a Ladder - 30 orbs of Discord.

I've tried every which way to do this, even going spectre body to passively watch drones or rockets kill everything off and only pick up wild mods. Hell i tried ONLY wild mods (spoiler i got smashed by the game for that). But to get 30, you have to get so many levels and with the games scaling as it is, by the time you're close to it, you're facing down double full screen bullet barrage or bull charging bosses to the point you cant see your own ship under the hail of stuff on screen and die.

Maybe its me? but i think it's one of those times to maybe tone down the amount you need. Cus I've tried (i counted) 187 times to do this, and got to at MAX 20'ish orbs before full screen bullet death happens. Anyone else given up on this? I know i should have tried before all the Updates when it was possible, and yes i'm probably terrible. But geez.... my fingers dude c.c

Nothing really changed about the achievement since it was added. You enable draft mode, and obsess, reveal and explosively grow your way into having 58 wild mods including discord. It's not really viable to reach this amount in regular play, unless you're utterly cracked.

OK nope, just nope i gave in and did the wimps way of doing it, like y'all said. Hate using draft seemed like a giant cheat to me since it came out. Issue is after a lot of attempts i did it~ I had (and i counted after i died, 2 + 1 for each two wilds you have after, 35 of em). they were on my Screen, they were there. I died to sudden boss spam cus i picked that wild mod alot. AND NOTHING.

No Achievement. Impossible. I give up. Flipping that achive the bird.

That mod spawns a boss the moment you acquire it. If you're in draft mode, hit escape and kill the boss before continuing to pick upgrades (or at least, do so before picking a second copy).
