Joystick / Controller select fix right here if you need it

I have been looking for a way to use my preferred joystick with the game for a while now. My 8bitdo arcade stick always shows up as something other than Joy0 in windows and this game only responds to Joy0.

This game feels really good with an arcade stick so I was disappointed when I couldn't get it to work anymore when I switched to the wireless stick. Anyway here's the solution, and if you have a lot of input devices this may solve the same issue for you in other games too:

This app reassigns JoyID in Windows whenever you want.

To use: click the line showing the stick you want to reassign and with the next click hit the line of the ID you want it to assign it to (the first line for ID#1 in this case).

Oh wow! This is actually quite handy, but not for the reason you described

I was having issues with the game picking up signals from the steering wheel while trying to play with mouse+kb. It would go fine for a few minutes and then suddenly the mouse disappears and the ship starts to continuesly turning left or right, unable to control it with the mouse.

Now I can swap the wheel with the xbox controller, which the game doesn't have any issues with, and have everything connected without interfering.

I have since found that it must also be the only controller connected (in most cases). Dunno if something changed but just setting it with JoyID no longer works if something else claims Joy0 first upon booting. Would be great if the game took input from the first joystick to hit a button or had a selector in the menu.

Awesome game tho, it's maybe a little too good, I should really go to bed but maybe just one more round...
