kinda disappointing launch :/
As an early access backer, I feel disappointed there aren't any new hulls or weapons, cause that's what makes the game basically, the game now is pretty much as finished as it was a year ago :/

This is just sort of the nature of game development, a lot of the hard work that comes at the end isn't as visible to players. If you review the changelog, you'll see it's actually our biggest update to date! https://blog.novadrift.io/patch-notes/
Fun updates likely to come later!

I feel like the game is much more polished, there are a lot of subtle but lovingly crafted touches that make the game "even more" complete if that makes sense. As ND is so robust as is, that's not a bad thing.

Not to say that there aren't some changes I'd like to see either, but overall this is a good a product that you're going to get at launch!

Did the Beta swap into the Release deployment slot client-side? I was playing Beta until yesterday, then the Beta tag disappeared but no download was queued (I have downloads paused all the time, to take updates on-demand.)

Just before release, the Beta branch was the same as the release version (all the changes from the beta were pushed to the main branch) so you got no download because there were no file changes.

I dont know about that. It is true that there isnt many new stuff to added, but the game where pretty complete at in his beta state. I can feel the polishing at this 1.0 launch and i wont complain about it. It run smoothly, can get lot going on and not a single frame drop, the game was already a gem now it just got polished

I personally think 1.0 was a downgrade. Locking endless mode behind what is arguably the worst boss design in the game semi ruined it for me.

Seems like this topic is recommending all future/other developers "do not do well with early access"
Because if you do too good, "there is nothing much to improve further at 1.0"

I think that expecting something to change on release is misunderstanding what the purpose Betas is.
a player who buys the game on release experience everything the game has to offer for the first time.
players who have been playing the beta knows part of the progress, knows builds beforehand and in general understand the game.
A beta isnt meant to be played by consumers, its only in recent time that it has become thing, a beta is meant to find problems and polish the game, the dev team has reached that goal so they released it, anything we get from this point on is considered extra content.

Please add an option to pause and resume the game at a later point, instead of having to keep the window open.

This is planned for a future update.

That's great! Even though my games typically don't run that long I still jump in and out and this would be nice to not obligate me to finish every game in one sitting.

honestly, i think the endboss is not that hard, especially if you got a really strong build going... with a "god build" you are guaranteed a win tbh, assuming you don't completely fail to dodge basic attack patterns etc.
