Charged Shot / Singular Strike
Either I'm missing something or Charged Shot and Singular Strike are really weak except for specific niche builds. You would think trading away your rapid fire and area attack ability would make the attack much more effective.

I tried to make a hadoken build with Split Shot, Charged Blast, Singular Strike, and Rancor. I ended up just spamming the mouse to rapid fire anyway as the charged blast slapped against bosses like a wet noodle. I had hoped it would be a heavy bolt that destroyed everything in its path but that just didn't pan out.

ahh, yeas

currently singular strike with split shot doesn't pan out too well because of the delays. charged shot/SS works better with less rapid fire weapons though, like grenade, dart, rail, etc

it would certainly be nice if SS could work better with split shot. split shot needs a buff in general.

You can unleash some pretty good carnage with charged shot and a fully stocked missile barrage. But it definitely feels like a bit of a downer otherwise.

I mean, if by "niche" you mean "weapons that benefit from these mods", unlike Split Shot...

Grenade, Vortex, Pulse, Salvo come to mind.

Even flak works well with this kind of build, if you add splinter and blast tree along with the right side of homing tree and snipe for range.

A lot of weapons are good with Charged Shot. I've had great charged Dart and charged Railgun runs. Not as many are suited for Singular Strike. Some weapons will straight up not work with that.

I would think split shot is exactly what singular strike is for.
Stuff like railgun should be naturally singular - the mod should be primarily for weapons that are only singular unnaturally.

But I guess it doesn't work because charged shot doesn't neglect the rate-of-fire delay even though you're not "firing" the weapon in a conventional sense?

Did you get antimatter rounds? I'm pretty sure it's mandatory for split shot.

Fusillade + antimatter => six mods.
With singular strike, this split shot should be 1733 DPS.
From what I understand, the blast damage doesn't affect the primary target, so we can ignore it in this case.

A comparable railgun build using volley, velocity, and fire rate instead of fusillade and antimatter should be 1076 DPS.

Charged shot should add the same % [weapon damage] to both numbers, and the bonus velocity isn't over 80% which it would need to be for railgun to match split shot (theoretical) DPS.

If charged SS split shot isn't doing devastating damage, something has gone extremely wrong.
