Make sure RivaTuner or other kinds of screen overlay software isn't running.
So, you used to be able to run it? Maybe see if something happened like Windows Update overwriting a good graphics driver version with some other version?
- Make sure ND isn't defaulting to the wrong GPU. If you have an integrated GPU - most PCs do, these days - sometimes Windows chooses the wrong one for a given purpose for inscrutable reasons. ND really ought to run on most GPUs, integrated or not, but I've seen people complaining otherwise for certain integrated chipsets.
- Run a thorough AV scan, preferably with more than 1 client. Malwarebytes is good as a free standalone (non-resident) scanner, if you need a 2nd client.
- Back up your save file (found at "%LOCALAPPDATA%\NovaDrift\"), then un/reinstall ND completely and restore your save.
- Make sure your graphics driver is up to date. If there has been a recent change to your driver, on the other hand, you may need to "roll back" to the previous one ^^' .
- Open a Command window as an administrator, and run the command "sfc /scannow", to detect any potential damage to Windows, itself.
- If you are using a "spinner" (electromechanical hard drive), it's not a bad idea to run "chkdsk /r /v" in a Command window, as well (altho it doesn't need to be as an administrator).
Those are the most common remedies for your symptoms. Please get back to us here with the results, for good or ill, and we can go from there, if need be.
