the bad guys and thermal lance / lasers.
is it just me or do the bad guys do absurdly stupid high damage when they hit you with thermal lance and lasers... I lose runs in seconds if I don't manage to take them out faster then they take me out... if I give them even half a second to hit me my shields and hp are melted off and I'm instantly dead... I think its broken and needs to have a nerf applied.

have you tried not getting hit? i dont mean this as a joke. some enemies require you to dodge their attacks. or retreat quickly.

well yea... I try to get out of the way as fast as possible but they just seem to melt me within the first second or so after firing the beam.

So don't do a build that is too slow? Wild rampage hullbreaker, sentinel orbital omnishield with celestial lance and/or dying star, rapid recon blink leviathan. There's plenty of builds that shred the scions and tentacle snappers before they can even do much of anything.

I agree the damage is high for those. The worms are easier to dodge, but the flying dudes that accompany the level 60 red boss can be easily missed (especially when it reappears with friends), and they turn fast enough that it takes a second or two to escape unless you're already zooming, and in that time they can strip your shield and half hull.

the game is tons of fun and has a nice lv of difficulty I just feel the lasers are a bit op on the bad guys.

You just have absurdly low health compared to enemies.

If you're trying to run away from a laser you're going to die eventually, the AI is way better at aiming them than you are - you should kill them.

As far as the thermal lance... all enemies with this lance use it as their 2nd attack in their pattern, so it will always have been onscreen long enough to notice.
Bonus answer: You don't even need to notice, SFX alone gives plenty of warning. Just pick a direction vaguely away from the enemy and accelerate when you hear the ringing.

The blink leviathan doesn't match up to the scion and wave 100 boss when they spawn together. I had a sick build going, all the right stuff, and am pretty good at dodging, but when the wave 100 boss spams his plasma all over and it melts you WHILE you try to dodge Scion's lance and blink onto either of them, you're pretty much ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I'm glad the game is still early access, 'cause I'm guessing they will fix how difficult those combos can be. Leviathan is great but that combo ruins any good run. I got them twice in a row (yup, got Scion and wave 100 boss spawned together, then again a few waves later, 220+ range) and the second time I was already still recovering with a huge health bar that went across the screen and 35+ health regen. It still killed me.

The ONLY thing I'm thinking is me getting Dying Star screwed me, even though I had plenty of regen despite the -11/s hull self-damage, I might have survived had I not bothered to take Dying Star.

But yeah the lance enemies and anything that leaves plasma orbs (wave 100 boss when he first shows up) is just OP to me. They melt any build WAY too quick and the game screen isn't big enough to dodge it all by late game, especially with lots of thrust and rampage.

Laser damage varies. The max tier blue dudes with 'drones' who all do lasers don't do much even if they all hit.

The lil red dues and Laser Worms will ♥♥♥♥ you up tho. Best bet is to keep moving when dealing with the little guys, and keep shooting the laser worms. They track really well but reset every time you break the head.

Thermal lances do tons of damage. They're only found on Scion, maxed Chompers, and the annoying ass blue mini-Spirfires. The former is a boss who loses most of his turn radius when using it, the midder is immobile and has a slow turn while using it, and the latter only does it for about a second.

Also both do a lot less damage to hull with a bit of Plating.
