Split Shot.

Why is this weapon so bad?, i can play every other weapon into 1 million score except split shot. developers go and fix it.

Torrent deals some redonk damage compared to anything other than salvo, and range is hard to get, so just concentrate on hull survival (might work with mixed health), velocity, and grab siege weaponry, barrage, and saturation fire to have a solid spike of large damage.

EDIT: Four things I completely forgot about. 1) Don't take bursts until you can get barrage unless it means giving up a tripled double tap. Without barrage bursts NEUTER your damage. 2) Power reserves is so good. It takes away almost all of the speed penalty, and you can "fling" some lashes towards particularly dangerous foes. 3) Usually
advance when the enemy is retreating. Your bullets are slow enough that retreating enemies can outrun them, and then you don't get much damage. 4) I would recommend corrosion, but that might be just me, as I almost always take it.

I did a run to show how it might play out. Got killed a little early by getting stuck in the boss with the laser trained on me, but I think it shows the gist. It's not broken as I remember it being, but it's certainly good.

Split Shot is indeed pretty horrible unless you manage to significantly boost it with lots of weapons mods, but early on it is such crap. It can be pretty awesome with a Barrage build but it still suffers from the lack of range that better weapons have like Salvo and Dart.

Ho i found dart totaly awful early game but once you got it set up howiiie, have a easier time with split shot early and less later.

Honestly I find Split shot more useful than Railgun or Thermal Lance. Torrent is a complete joke as far as I'm concerned.

That being said, OP, you probably just need to try out different builds with Split Shot :)

The Dart is also really good also, if you get lucky with the bonus projectile Wild Mod.

railgun with charged shot + rancor = stuff is getting destroyed

That said I think that dart is the most fun (for me) but salvo is most effective

I quite like Torrent and Spilt shot myself. Some of my best runs have been with those Plus Dart and homing causing my whole screen to get filled with darts flying all over the place hitting everything

Torrent's range is too low to be of use, especially at high levels, and split shot doesn't put out enough DPS compared to other weapons.

Maybe it's just me but I've found that if I want to get to the ~ 2 million range I have to use salvo or darts. Nothing else will come close.

This weapon isn't bad, it's just somewhat underpowered early-game. With upgrades it's god-tier.

To be fair, ANY weapon will be pretty decent, with 40-50 mods slathered on it ^^' .

Even with a ton of mods to improve it I still think darts / salvo are far better than split shot. Basically, in this game range and homing make a huge difference so when you have darts or salvo, especially with warp strike, you're far more likely to land more shots and more shots landed = more dps. Every shot that hits an enemy rather than missing or simply not being able to reach is vital.
