So it's like stutter but way worse. A hitch is a momentary, sometimes split second freeze, causing the game to have very poor performance.
When I move the mouse around it'll freeze in place then teleport to the location that I was moving towards, move smoothly for a half second then do it again. Prior to the patch there were no issues.
I thought it may have been refresh rate related as some games screw up on 360hz monitors, but I lowered it various times and it didn't change any of the performance issues.
Never use vsync!
I'll give it a shot now.
Edit: Still doing it :/
Got powerpoint slide mode going still.
Maybe re-install? Another idea is forcing windows to use the correct GPU for NGO? You can do that via windows or ... I think via the nvidia graphics card: https://steamcommunity.com/app/22320/discussions/0/490124466478653678/
No problems with any other games at all, so there's no hardware issue here that I'm aware of. And it was working fine on prior patches. Unsure if it could be something Win11 related messing with stuff but yeah... mega powerful rig is choking on the game for some reason.
Let me mess with that and see.
For some reason the game hates G-SYNC. Not very often that happens!
Not ideal but at least the game can be played normally after disabling it.
Edit: Looks like v-sync and g-sync are both a thing. Confusing... 😵
Yeah, v-sync is vendor agnostic, g-sync is only on (superior) NVIDIA products :D
