Why did we have to go from perfect anime graphics to this again
Dragon Ball FighterZ is basically the best way to make anime graphics look actually good in 3d by somehow making them still look 2d, why do we have to take a step back to the terrible cell shaded graphics instead of still doing something that looks just perfect?

Because CyberConnect2 it's not Arc System Works? It would make sense If you ask about this if they were the same developers, but they aren't

They looked awful in FighterZ, with the eyebrows squinting into a point, which isn't how they're drawn in Dragon Ball and which looks ridiculous:

They still work both for the same publisher, you'd think maybe some of them would try to see how they're doing it so everyone can do it and the games stop looking awful :lunar2019deadpanpig:

Because FighterZ is a fighting game with limited frames and animations that they can coat with good artstyle and shaders... while this is a full-fledged open world game where everything takes x100 more development time. Why would they waste more time and money for something that doesn't make a big difference to everyone? It's not rocket science.

TBH I know it's an old thread but this hits 100% truth the graphics are a big step back from FighterZ

I mean because CyberConnect2 developed this game, not Arc Systems who developed FighterZ. They may both be published by Bandai but they are done by different developer teams with different art styles and such.

You obviously don't understand, how Fighterz was made then. The reason it looks so good, is because characters can only be seen from pre set angles with them being animated at a lower framerate(game is 60fps but characters animate at around 24fps). So they could adjust everything frame by frame to get it to look just right without a huge performance impact. Kakarot renders everything like most games do, with characters having to animate at 30-60fps withe everything else on screen.

Because fighter z is a fighter on a 2d-3d plane. It isn't a big world with lots of vistas to see before and during fights. If this game had fighterz's graphics, you probably wouldn't be able to play it on console without some severe visual limitations and this game wasn't designed for PC.
