EVE wont close

I have an issue where steam thinks EVE Online is still running, after i have closed it and confirmed that the process isn't running in task manager. Only have this problem with EVE. I'm getting really tired of restarting my computer every time i want to play another game.

It's a Steam issue. It happens to me with FSX. No real solution as far as I can remember besides restarting Steam every time. Valve pls fix!

Make sure the launcher isn't staying active in a process in task manager.

I looked for anything eve related and closed it. Is the launcher called something not obvious?

Ctrl+Alt+Del to open task manger and end task of "evelauncher.exe" and "evefile.exe"

I am having the same issue. Stop button does not work, anything related to Eve and the Eve Launcher have been closed and shut down through the task manager, but Steam still says that Eve is running. Restarting Steam does not fix it.

evefile.exe or anything like it is not in my taskmanager to close down, if it were any other program i would think its a virus

I have this issue today.
My solution is:
1) go to D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Eve Online
2) double click "eve.exe"
3) I can see "evelauncher.exe" in tasks manager
4) stop EVE in steam
5) DONE!!!

same issue here, although this is not going to be fixed if it is a Steam issue, better report on the client forum.
