rundll32.exe Hangs during startup.

when launching the game, nothing appears, if I try to start again I get the game is already running message, when I check the process manager (I use system explorer) I find that rundll32.dll is started but is not actually doing anything. If I kill it the game dies also, if I restart it I get a explorer window opened to c:\windows|syswow64\ and then the launcher opens, followed a second or 2 by a certificate error message (the certificate error is due to DNS blocking of doubleclick.net).
If I choose the ignore option the the game runs normal, if I choose the cancel option I have to log in then the game runs normal.

I suspect what ever is causing the rundll32.dll to hang is also the cause of many of the game start issues I see posted in this forum.
