Mac Users Eve Launcher Issues [NO FIX INSIGHT]
There is currently a bug with the mac version, allowing the user to launch the game, but not being able to login succesfully.

I filed a bug report over at eve and they replied very quickly, I'm a mac user and they replied that the steam mac launcher is not yet ready, they are trying to resolve the issue ASAP and said an update may be out at the end of the day today or monday.

This problem that you describe is a known issue.

The EVE launcher for Mac was not yet ready for Steam integration, we are working on resolving this ASAP. Okay, guys sorry to inform you but there is currently no patch coming up in the horizon, so for those guys that would like to play it on mac you will have to contact EVE Online support at support@eveonline.com and explain the situation they will know what you are on about.
What do you have to do:
1. Create a eve online trial account or ask the offer below to be transfered to an existing trial account.
2. Contact EVE support at support@eveonline.com (they should be quick to reply)
3. They will add the following offers to your account as reimbursment:
They weill add the extra 30 days manualy, however they cannot transfer the starter pack over so instead you will recieve an extra Plex which can be read about at (http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/30_days_Concord_Pilot_License_Extension) these are worth more tha the starter pack items.

This is current word, if there will be a fix sometime in the future is unknown so un less you have some hatred towards websites I would take the above offer, there is no need to redownload the client the downloaded client should still work.

@Antdude yeh they posted an article a few days ago on https://community.eveonline.com/news/news-channels/eve-online-news/ explaing it, but an extra 2 weeks sounds gd, if they resolve it before the 2 weeks we get a couple of days extra free that's nice :D

Not true as far as I can tell. The timer didn't start on mine until it was redeemed for my toon. That was a couple of days after my account started.
Looks like they've given up. Just got this e-mail from CCP:

Hello there,

As you may know, the Macintosh client for EVE Online does not work on Steam and we simply do not know when the matter will be resolved, so we will now be offering the following alternative to our Mac users:

Log into the Account Management page linked below and create a new 14 day Trial account:

https://secure.eveonline.com/login.aspx

We will then manually upgrade the new account for you and add 30 days of subscription time to compensate for the days you already purchased on the Steam account.
Sadly we cannot replace the items that came with the Amarr Explorer Starter Pack, but we will be providing you with one PLEX on the new account to compensate for the loss of these items.
Please note that the PLEX is considerably more valuable than the items from the Starter Pack, but we feel that this issue warrants an apology from us and will therefore be offering the PLEX in question.

So, they've thrown in the towel on the Mac Eve Steam client and the Starter Packs we bought are basically useless now. We get a PLEX to compensate, but basically I think, but am not sure, you may have to start a new character.

And that's where we are.

I haven't had an email yet but that's ridiculous if it's the case. Poor show Steam!
I haven't got an email yet either? How do I do this without getting that email?
I sent an e-mail back to CCP to find out what I need to do. I think I'm supposed to create a new trial from scratch, but how do I verify I am a Steam Mac user? I'll update on this when I hear from CCP.

You can run Eve without the Steam launcher, by navigating down to the Eve executable file and firing that up directly. I've tested it and the game launches fine without Steam.
yeh, I sent an email to CCP quoting the above email, the main reaosn why I wanted to do it throgh steam was because I trust steams payment methode more than a websites, but ah well, can't always get what you want I guess... Thanks Antdude for quoting the email above :)
No fix insight has been confirmed I have updated the post for any mac user who wishes to play on the mac :) enjoy eve

EDIT2 : i've misunderstood ^^". But have we to contact CCP about our "upgrade" and the PLEX ?

I just don't see why some player is working like a CCP customer service here.

Fix was incoming then now it is beyond horizon? any source?
Only passing on information I got from emails :) all quoted above... Just trying to have a central place for mac people so they know what's going on, eventhough evedently is quite challenging ;)
well for me i dont want to create another account i have a in-game character already. will it be moved because i used the windows to play when i saw the mac was taking a long time.
